Hello, A certain blog is copying contents from my blog, word by word. He has even copied my "About" page. Moron! Now, I have found that he has been submitting these copied contents to Digg, getting heavily dugged and as such getting lots of traffic and also rank better in Google for those keywords. The good part is, his blog is hosted on blogspot. Now I want to file a DMCA against him but I have absolutely no idea on these matters. Will I have to pay for expenses while filing report? Can anybody give me a sample report to give me some idea. What can I expect out of these? Will google remove the blogspot blog? Will this blog be de-indexed from search engines?
I would suggest contacting Blogspot and showing them proof that you solely wrote the content. Once they see this they should be quick to the jump and delete his Blogspot. I know that's not exactly what you're asking for, but it's an idea to try. Good luck
What mmslax2 said. Simply prove that you created the content and he is copying you and then inform Blogspot about it. If he is displaying AdSense then you can contact Google directly.
Blogger has this notice regarding copyright violation Should I file a DMCA or not? And yes, he uses adsense.
It will takes you much time to process it. Why not get contact with him and ask him to remove the content first. If it doesn't work, you have many choices. considering of Reporting to blogspot by email . Once I have received an email to ask me to remove some pictures from my site. Then I remove the pictures. I am not meant to copy their pictures.
The owner will not care if you contact him and ask him nicely, Just contact Google. Is he copying and pasting, or Feeding from your RSS ? Either way, most people who do this are not closely monitoring their blog, they have many like this. Leave comments on his blog, ratting him out to any readers, and if he is feeding from RSS, write a post about copyright , and theft and finger his domain directly. Not only does it work, but it's fun too
That guy is a born plagiarist. For the last 2 hours I'm going through his blog looking for copyrighted material. Not only has he copied from my blog but numerous other blogs. I'm going to contact these other blogs as well and if possible file ask them to file a DMCA as well.
Contact him and google and file a DMCA. That might take a little while so in the mean time make a post that says"xxxx.blogspot.com is copying all the content from yoursite.com" see if he copies that post as well.
I would suggest you directly contact Blogspot. More than likely, they will deleted the site immediately as they are reputable and will not let things get out of hand...at least that was how it went a couple month ago when I contacted Blogspot informing them that one of their user jacking off some of my articles.
I reported someone for doing exactly the same a few days ago - I used the 'report spam' in google webmasters. The other pages are still in the listings but my page is now no 1 for phrases from the page, where it was about page 10 before I reported it (after digg, netscape etc) Coincidence? perhaps, who knows, but worth a try, it only takes 2 minutes to do.
Start off with sending a leal notice with DMCS clause. Wait for the reply and after 15 days of receipt of that legal notice if no reply comes to you, you can start legal process.
thanks @Redace and @Rasputin. I will do that first. If it doesn't work, I will file a DMCA. @MelogKnaj: Nice suggestion
