    Right.

I posted recently, I've invested into Adwords, not a lot, as I have an upcomming site I am developing which will be more heavily promoted.

I am looking for cheap ways to promote my site, relating to Eczema. I have Adwords, I've set my budget on there, and am not shifting from what it is - this is because I'm a student, work part time and don't really get much!

Now, I've started posting my site to free directories, started e-mailing other niche / topic related sites to affiliate with them.

The next step is to affiliate with products, by advertising products on my site and hopefully in return earn a percentage of revenue.

Can anybody suggest possible ways I could furthermore market my site? As I've been told the basics, but as a novice I see the basics as investing a little, and using meta words/description and posting on other sites.

Also, what are back links? Are these links on other sites which relate to your own?

    Cheers, James

Yes, backlinks is when another site has a link to your site

In your list of marketing ideas, you've left out writing articles. Write an article on eczema, submit it to several e-zines, with a link to your site.

There are lot's of other methods, but they all will cost time or money for outsourcing. Article marketing seems to work for alot of people and is free or pretty cheap. Promoting using various social sites ala Web 2.0 is pretty effective as well. Regarding adwords, there are other aspects to adwords you may want to look into such as site target or using the content network but you will need to study up on how to use them effectively or your may end up getting burned.

Since you seem to be into PPC you could also try broadening your campaigns to include Yahoo and MSN PPC.

    Be well.
