A Bit of Advice on AdSense Revenue Sharing Sites

Here's a chance to realize how much time is wasted on producing content for other people's websites: Imagine your shetoldme.com account get deleted one day because you've made a mistake and posted a scoop violating my rules on content? I don't give any warning anymore (I used to do it) because the number of members has increased tremendously and I'm not hiring anyone yet to do work around maintaining my sites.

That applies not only on my site(s) where I share adsense revenue with others, but also on any place which you don't own yourself.

You should focus on producing content for your own web properties, that's what I'm doing myself. Google will send you the traffic you need for earnings, no need for backlinks and whatnot, if your web properties has the content needed for massive traffic, google, yahoo and bing will send it to you. To know what content people are searching for, use google insights, then produce content answering those queries, you'll see mass traffic flowing in.

--- Second way to say it in less words ---

To save you time I need to be honest and tell you that producing content for others, even in the context of backlinking and adsense revenue sharing, is a waste of time to me.
Time is best invested in producing content on your own web properties and if you have the content needed for mass traffic (can use google insights to know what people are already searching for) google, yahoo and bing will send it your way.

It's true, but some sites such as mine, advertize the fact that WHILE building backlinks you also get to earn some money via adsense revenue sharing. And on forums such as DP many people repeat that backlinks are needed for traffic. That's why many fall into this "trap" of sites such as mine.

I'm simply saying here that we don't need that many backlinks, first focus on building as much good content (good = mass traffic appeal) as possible on your own web properties, and then yes, perhaps build some backlinks, after one year of working daily/weekly on your site's content.

But I won't add it in my site's pages. I only write it in the account deletion emails that members receive once their application has been denied or their account has been deleted because of rules violation. :)

It's solid advice, although a bit confusing since you're essentially tellings us not to use your website :)

I agreed , do not work for others (just for few percent sharing) , work for your own and get 100%, You might have to work hard in initial stage but after a time you will get high return as compared to those revenue sharing site, and what will be great at that time is you will own your work and not some body else.

Some revenue sharing sites allow you to retain ownership of your content at all times, such as mine, Excerptz.com. So your point is a little mute.

Although I too promote mine as a revenue sharing article directory, with the primary benefit being backlinks to your own websites with AdSense revenue as a bonus. They do serve a purpose, and I was once making $4k a month from revenue sharing sites, so don't be too down on them.

I already have somebody making $10 a day on Excerptz with a few articles, so earning isn't impossible on any revenue sharing platform. There are benefits to having some people backlink their content, passing link juice to your own. It is much easier to rank on a revenue sharing site without building any backlinks whatsoever, which is the attraction to them.

I'm not talking about ownership of content, I'm talking about sharing the revenue with the site owner. Of course you can earn money while doing only revenue sharing. But my point is that if you had spent this time on your own web properties you would be earnings much more by now. That's all I'm saying but of course people will continue registering on my sites or yours for backlinks, to benefit also of our anteriority/authority with google compared to a brand new blog/site that they have recently opened.
Yes all this is true. But personally I don't use any other site to produce content than my own. Well except for forums such as DP and others, because I don't have my own forum as I find them too time consuming to manage, but if I had a forum I would be posting there!
