So I was going to launch an AdWords campaign for http://savegasguide.net/ - But now that gas prices are plummeting I'm thinking it won't be worth it. I guess I'm going to try to expand to another niche, as the only other affiliate site I'm running as it is would be my Earth4Energy affiliate @ http://renewable-energy-info.com/ - Bleh! Any suggestions? Should I ride out the valley and wait a few weeks for prices to start to rise again then start my AdWords campaign, or should I start straight out and (for now) focus on another niche?

Wow, that's a tough one.............I have heard that gas prices will be going up again:) but with people it's "out of site out of mind"....... they are happy right now......................so maybe start working on another niche and keep this one on the back burner:)

    Hope that helps some!

I know for a fact that gas prices are going back up, as the economy is coming out of it's extreme downfall and *starting* to stabilize, there's going to be more demand for oil again, thus higher prices. We're already starting to see it in the price of oil, not gas - but I expect (unfortunately) that it'll go right back up again soon, which is why I'm giong to keep this one "on the back burner" as vitalink says.

Might anyone have some recommendations on some good-converting niches?

Even if gas prices are falling, people still want to save money. I think your site looks good, are you driving (no pun intended) any traffic to it at the moment?

Blackman it's not Water4Gas, read the site lol. Teapoint not really, but I'm not sure if I want to invest in AdWords for something like that while gas prices are basically falling...

Its actually one of my products, its not hho niche. Its hypermiling, saving gas through driving techniques, cheap maintenance, etc.

And unfortunately conversion ratios are pretty bad with fuel prices dropping, I wouldn't PPC it right now as my best affiliate is only converting about 1:100 and he was doing 1:15 or 1:30 when gas was $4 a gallon. Give it some time and they'll come back up.

Might be smart looking at different country's then america. The prices are and always have been high in europe ( the netherlands, germany etc) if you focus your google compaign on these country's it should be well worth it. I'm not sure if you can do this thought I don't have experience with adwords.

With the falling gas prices, less revenue is made from oil producing countries; it won't be soon before OPEC lowers its production rate which will lead to a rise in the oil prices again.

So my advice for you would be to wait for a couple of weeks and see how the prices will change.

Guess it can't hurt to explore other niches past the cost of a domain 'a? Thanks for the responses guys.
