I owe you people so much. Thanks for all the advice. I have been lurking, but after 9 months I have just hit a key $x dollars per day target I set myself so I thought I might as well say thank you. Regards
Did you read the fineprint when you signed up? When you hit $X a day, you have to give XX% back to he community. It should be automatically drafted from your bank account on the 1st and 15th. Seriously though.. Congrats. Always good when you hit a goal.. Now you need to target that next goal and move up again.
Well this week I really did hit $xxx per day. I am happy to announce that come January 1st 2007 I will no longer be working for 'the man' but will be running my web publishing business full time. I remember there used to be a regular poster on DP who signed off with something like: "If you arent' making a thousand dollars a day, you aren't trying." I used to think he was arrogant and definitely lying. I no longer believe that. It takes hard graft to go it alone, but it can be done. Good luck and thanks for the support and giving me the self confidence to try. Chris
And here we are at the end of 2007 and it has been so much more fun working for myself since the end of last year. Adsense, combined with a bit of affiliate ad money, some Web Design and SEO has kept the roof over our heads, allowing us to enjoy family life together. We get up when we want, we work when we want and we go to bed when we want. I am not saying this to be smug, but to encorage everyone else to follow their dreams too. Look closely at your finances, plan carefully and you too can do it. It isn't easy and sometimes money is tight. The effects of a falling dollar for those of us living in England but relying on adsense sometimes give me sleepless nights... No, that is just a corny phrase. I have slept really well this past year. Happy Christmas everyone. C
