Hi I have been selling my products through the third party like clickbank in Japan(not Clickbank, but similar in Japan). I'm now thinking about selling some software porgrams on the English market and thinking about using Paypal and I just started rescerching about it. I have bought products through paypal and after doing so, I usually receive 2 confirmation e-mails. One is from Paypal, and the other is from the seller. However, I heard that Paypal itself does not have the option where the seller can send an confirmation e-mail after someone payed you money and you actually have to put an additional script on your server for Paypal to be able to do so. Is that true? If so, what script do you use? It seems that every time I buy something through Paypal I receive confirmation e-mails from both Paypal and the seller, so if it is true it comes me as a shock. I actually went to Paypal's website for the seller and I couldn't find any information about it (It's possible I missed it though). Sorry it must be really a basic question. Thanks
The confirmation email from the seller is actually configured through the network that processes the sales, e.g., if your product is on clickbank then the seller confirmation email is processed through clickbank. Contact the network through which you sell your products and ask them about sending confirmation emails to buyers.
Hi affilorama, I have not selled anything yet on the english market. I know that if you go through C2O or Clickbank then they have that kind of options. What I want to know is when you do not go therough these the netweok, just through the Paypal's marchant account. Thanks
You have to use the paypal IPN , Instant Payment Notification...add the processing script url to the "notify_url" hidden field in the paypal button form, write the confirmation email sending code and other codes required in the script. the ipn script should do some specific tasks as required by paypal. check this page.. paypal.com/ipn
