a/b Split

    What is a/b split? Is there anybody who have got any idea on it. Please tell me. Thanx in advance.

    If you are talking about testing and tracking then an a/b split is where you send traffic to two different pages. Maybe one page is selling your product for $67 and the other page for $97. You then test and track (using something like Google Analytics) which price is converting best.

    Using the example above, it's likely that you would sell more of your product at $67, but depending on how much less you sell at $97, then $97 might be the more profitable price. Only by doing an a/b split test can you find out this information.

    Thanx a lot for the info. Is it related to product sale through site or its completely related to SEO? May be my query seems to u rubbish but still I'm asking cos I've not got any idea on it. Its completely new topic for me.

    It is related to a conversion goal through a site. It does not need to be a sale...so for example...you could test a page with one color of button for conversion (clicking it) against another color...

    Multivariate testing is a / b testing's big cousin...there you test multiple variables on a page
