I'm sick of the spam messages I'm getting though. It's bound to happen more and more as your friends list grows, but still ...
Whoa, crap, it musta been a while since I looked. lol, I think I got it confused with another profile. Oh well
doesnt that kind of negate the 99.7 million users things? Seems like it would be nice if somebody got into that account and did some "Advertising" not that a white hat guy like me would think of doing that.
There have been a few negotiations as far as MySpace are concerned... Tom did sell it - think it was $11.5mil (maybe toms cut from that was $7mil)... it was on a webmasterworld thread and in yahoo news. Then the company he sold it to reported $79mil profit, that drew the attention of the big boys and FOX got it for $580 mil or so. Recently, google made a deal to serve the search of MySpace and some other Fox owned sites for $900mil. MySpace claimed 250,000 users signing up daily. Overall, Google gain more market share as Yahoo did have the search provision for it - but from October this year Google will be providing the search. The question then is what influence Google will have and how it affects MySpace users that use it for marketin of adsense sites. Many MySpace users have been banned from adsense as well - but that could be down to numerous reasons.
they have spam on the internet now???? at what point do you think it becomes a problem? I have 26K on my main account and maybe get 4 'spammies' a week.
Not very well. Most people dont actually view your profile bt just add you as a firend and move on. Also there is too much saturation. I use myspace for other uses besides promotion.
Well, they also have bulletins you could use to advertise. If you have just a few thousand friends a bulletin post may do pretty nicely. Also if the myspace is a sort of fan page etc for another site just the fact that people see it is advertising it.
You know I bet he was thinking a couple milliion was enough, and he got at least 5 million i think. I bet he was just really tired of running it, even if there was lots of other people working with him he was probably just burned out and had the chance to cash out and basically never have to work again. Lucky bastard
