So who is actually racist here if people prefer one candidate over another strictly because of the color of his skin?

    Source? Not that it's unfeasible.

I'm just curious where you came up with that percentage? Especially considering there is no way to track it statiscally.

I mean honestly, 78% of stats are all made up anyways....

Yeah I just went and looked it up because I had to know if it's true. I don't know if I'd call it racism, but it definately was probably a hasty generalization. Where I live a lot of Mormons voted for Romney just because of his religion. They are not bigots towards McCain's religion, they just identify with "one of their own."

I didn't vote for him because he's black.

I'm more excited about his intelligence and mental capacity to fix this mess and what he will do than his skin color. But then I didn't grow up in a time where it made me feel this would never happen. I always assumed it would in fact. Just needed the right candidate.

In fairness I came across a LOT of uninformed black voters that were just voting for him because of the color of his skin. I also witnessed, saw evidence of, and overheard a LOT of white people who voted against him because of the color of his skin.

So to answer your question about who the racists are. EVERYONE who cast a vote solely based on the color of his skin. Even the ones who did it for "historical" reasons.

Race ended up being a factor for me, but in an indirect way. I didn't start off saying to myself that I wanted to vote for a black man. I came in through the back door, so to speak. I asked a simple question of both candidates: What are the likely known effects that either Presidency will have?(I also considered their apparent aptitude in dealing with unknowns)

The answer that stood out over all of them was the potential and I believe likely effect that a well liked, well spoken, highly intelligent and highly ambitious half-black person like Obama could have on the downtrodden in our society and therefore on our society as a whole. It was something that couldn't be ignored.

However I think this is a lot different than simply voting for somebody strictly based on race(coming through the front door, if you will), which I'm sure a lot of blacks did. And at the same time, I can't really blame them.

At any rate, I think blacks certainly delivered Ohio.

There is the reason right there.

When we are uneducated and uninformed and ignorant, we judge men by physical factors.
    [Size, muscles, colour, looks .....]

When we are educated and informed and enlightened, we judge people by their mental and spiritual factors.
[faith, courage, intellect, creativity, common sense .....]

    Oh I get it.

When it was 90% for the Democrat Bill Clinton, it wasn't about race.

When it was 90% for the Democrat Al Gore, it wasn't about race.

When it was 90% for the Democrat John Kerry, it wasn't about race.

When it was 90% for the Democrat Barack Obama, NOW it's about race.

    Yeah, sure. That makes sense.

I am not African-American. I did not vote for Obama. I am human and can emapthize.

This one time, because it was the first time I am not willing to be judgmental about an African-Amercan voting for another simply because of a common heritage. I wish I could have voted for the first black president.

I wanted to be able to say I did because it is breaking a long overdue barrier but this was not the canidate I could support.

Maybe now, the next time, we can all focus on the issues and not the color of a person's skin.

It is easy to understand .
As a candidate, you must find something common to persuade people to vote you .
    I don't think it is racist . I don't support racist .

Well the point was, if Obama was white and everything else was the same maybe he wouldn't have won, or at least there have been a close race..

Well, he probably thought himself the good guy, the crusader, the demolisher of evil.

Blame it on melanin. Nuke it from humanity.
