So I've been blogging for about 4 months now and usually pull in between $300 and $500 a month from Google AdSense (7000-8000 views/month). I've got a pretty fun niche, writing about how to find jobs in overseas security contracting, and past ad clicks have brought in anywhere from 10 cents to $2 each. Most common SEO keywords were security, contract, and jobs. This morning I had auto-posted a topic on applied principles of "risk management". That must have one of the higher paying keyword sets because when I checked my stats at 0800, I saw that I had only 1 click, but it was for $9.86!! Definitely not trying to brag, as this is not a typical result. Just trying to add my experience to the wealth of knowledge that I've been able to pick up from this forum.
its nice of you to share your experience with such a detailed procedure glad u made a good click amount hope u get more higher rates in future.
You are quite lucky to track the content. But last time as i remember i got $5.2 in 1 click but i couldnt find the exact topic in my blog. anyway good luck for you. thanks for sharing
I write my topics in advance and then set them to post automatically in the mornings, and today's was specifically on the "risk management" aspects of getting hired as security contractor. That was the only change from normal, so I'm assuming that Adsense pulls keywords for their ads from the keywords in the individual posting and not the past content of the webpage itself. I normally try not to check stats too often, but in this case I'm real interested. Second click of the day was for $4.50, so I think the "risk management" keywords are definitely a big factor.
did u customise ur content to help Google display relevant ads? or u just wrote an article...thats all?
Just checked the adwords suggestion tool. These keywords have an average cpc of 4$ to 5$ so they're pretty good. Too bad there's also alot of competition. greetz smetten
I just wrote an article for my usual readership that just happened to incorporate these keywords. I don't think that I'd mess around too much with adding specific keywords into my regular postings, I don't want to alienate my regular readers with low-quality content.
Nice....I get like $0.000000001 on the odd occasion on one of my blogs. Really need to focus on my own stuff again, instead of helping other sites.
Yes, Vman. I think the high quality contents is your keys for a good articles. It's will be useful for the readers. Informative and educative. Nice jobs. Thanks for share.
hey can u gist me on how u got traffic to ur site/blog? one thing is to have quality content but most important is to get traffic

I believe you will achieve more and earn more in this niche. Congrats and I hope you persevere in blogging.

You can make a nice packet from adsense if you blog about the topic, blogging random thoughts will never make you money. Loans are a high paying keyword so if you wanna set youself a SEO project create a blog and write high quality posts about a high paying subject.
No special secrets or anything. I work in security and just made sure to spread the word about my project on the topical internet forums that I use anyway. I've got a lot of contacts in the contracting field that pass my link along for me through word of month, and I put up fliers whenever I pass through military bases.
I get the same thing occasionally on one of my sites. But its a forum, so I have no control over what people waffle on about, and the click through rate is so low it barely counts. Its mostly housing and economics though, so on the rare event when people *do* click it is usually quite a large $number per click, and of course if an ad is really interesting quite a few people click on it so it doesn't rain, it pours ...
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing some details about how you do things. Those are valuable insights. Congratulations!
