9,000 impressions/day site with only 200-300 sitewide adsense impressions?

    Hi,

    Just like the title says. I have Google adsense ads site-wide on my website that receives 9,000 impressions/day and 4,000 uniques/day. But, in my adsense reports (for quite some time now), it's always 200-300 impressions with a few clicks. Why is this? Did I do something wrong, or is Google just screwing with me? :S.

    donny, you sure its 9000 impressions or hits? Often, counters records each single downloaded pics/gifs as hits. Thats not a impression.

    however if you are sure about impressions, its might be a good idea to contact them. That just seems way-off to me.

    Hits = Page Impressions

    Most of people make this mistake...sometimes a click with no page loads is also hit, and sometimes 1 page view can take 9 hits, I've seen.

    PAGE VIEWS = Page Loads.

    See your stats might show PAGES or Pageveiws as separate.

    If its pageviews then, I am sorry for this big explanation, lol...

    Hits is not impressions. page loads = impressions.

    Google doesnt give a damn about your gif/sidebar picture downloads. It only counts each page load irrespective of no. of adsense ads on that page.

    It is 9000 page views only. Are you sure every page does display ads?

    Or its really weird, contact google...

    awstats doesnt require javascript to count all page views.

    You should try analytics for a bit. www.google.com/analytics

    The last 9000 page views seem a bit off to me, since it has less visitors but more pageviews on that day.

    Are you sure awstats recording page views correctly. I suggest first get google analytics account since its a good product and its easier to dispute with them if in case there are any issues.
