Well I am a little confused.. Should we have to add just this in the privacy policy ??

        * Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on your site.
        * Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to your users based on their visit to your sites and other sites on the Internet.
        * Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.

    An this ??

We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. If you would like more information about this practice and to know your choices about not having this information used by these companies, click here.

I'd like to know too, I have 140 site to update so I don't want to do that twice!

Also, considering the policy is for vistors to read, should this line etc have the name of your site in place of 'your site'?

Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on your site.

Because obviously the person reading it doesn't own the site.

    For instance should I write:

    * Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to abudhabiguides.org users based on their visit to abudhabiguides.org and other sites on the Internet.

Unfortunately yes you do, you have to add a Privacy Policy and integrate the new additions if you have Adsense on your site, even if you aren't going to use the new interest based ads.

You only have to add the 3 lines that begin with an * and mention that your sites uses 3rd party advertising.

With that many sites, I would make a single privacy policy that you link back to from all of them. The privacy policy should list all the sites that in pertains to. So, from your example:
    - say the policy is for "atroman's sites", then list them, so the term is defined.
    - have all the original privacy policy information
    - add: "Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to all of the users of astroman's sites based on their visit to abudhabiguides.org and other sites on the Internet."

Here is the info about the latest change (the link should have been in the email Google sent you):

That's not a bad idea, I might give that a go today. It will make things a lot easier if I need to make corrections.

I imagine that eventually some turd will report your site for not following adsense TOS then google will email you saying it's come to our attention bla bla bla then give you 3 days to put a Privacy Policy up there, then take further action if you don't.

A privacy policy for sites using Adsense has been required for more than a year. Adsense can shut down your account if you don't abide by the terms, so the answer is that not having a privacy policy could get you banned. Will it? There's no way for us to know.

Here is the current wording of the requirement on the Adsense Program Policies page:
The recent change requires you to add info on the DART cookies and a link to Google's opt-out page.
