Its allowed in the U.S., its just some online casinos stopped accepting U.S. players because of a law that involves payments processors (visa, credit card, etc.), making it harder for us to deposit and withdraw. There's alot more that take US players still

Oh ok I thought it was illegal but seeing all the "888.com bonuses for united states players" coming up (wasnt exactly like that but it was about bonuses and the US) made me think we could. Ill just go to a casino then. Thanks.

That is 100% incorrect. Early last year the US Government banned all US based players to gamble online as they had no way of taxing earnings. All sites that still accept American players are technically breaking the law.

If you're from the USA and you still want to win money online by playing games, check out the "skill gaming" genre. It's not gambling, as there is no luck involved in winning -- check out this link if you're interested:

(Yes, I'm advertising my own site but it's relevant to the topic :D)

Try www.absolutepoker.com, i've been with them for a long time and I'm sure they allow US players.
I'm not from the USA myself so I wouldn't know about the laws, but it's worth giving absolute poker a try and if you want to play online without downloading, which you probably do, try here - http://www.absolutepoker.com/no-download/

Sounds crazy. But i am wondering if a site is hosted in Netherlands for instance and they do allow US residenets to gamble, what the government can do about it?

To the starter of the thread, it is not worth gambling if you are looking to loose some money just give it to me. :D :p

They are 'breaking the law' in some sense, if you walk backwards in Holland and it's illegal in some other country, Dutch goverment would not mind you. Still, bookmakers run away from the American bettors.

I heard from some people from Slovenia that they could have not registered at some bookmakers because the IP addresses of those bookmakers were blocked by major Slovenian Internet providers.

It is not that they do not want to accept, the problem is USA govt refused to allow them to operate legally.
