i have a directory with some adsense ads on top, and nothing else. it is basically making next to nothing maybe 3-5 dollars per month off of 19k uv 87k page views does anybody know of any affiliate programs that convert general directory traffic. thanks everyone.
Ad's for a general directory are difficult as they are usually not just targeted towards on subject/area, this will be one of the factors why your adsense isn't being very productive. Obviously there are alternatives to adsense such as adbrite but from my experience it doesn't pay as well as adsense and in your case that wouldn't be good. My advice would be to work out where your traffic is coming from? and what keywords are being used to get to your site... for example if someone's searching "health product directory" on google and coming to your site then promoting health products is an idea Check out moreniche (last link in my sig) they have some niche products which convert well if you can work out where your traffic is coming from one of their products could do very well.
