bizzard - very nice work...I cannot think of any real feedback to give you on it. One thing I am wondering is with a menu bar like that...if the restaurant has only 3 pages to start, will it detract from the main menu? Ace2016 - I received your entry. I know there are joomla slideshows out there, but I do not know how easily it can be programmed. If you could come up with a more traditional concept, I think that might work better in practical terms. To everyone submitting a design, please show your design with no more than 5 items in your menu bar. I believe that is all that this website it will have, it is just a small restaurant in a small town and they want an attractive and functional web presence.
DrZapp - I would say a few things. First of all, I think it would be better for the menu to have its own page, and not be on the front page. Secondly, the areas of the page feel a bit squished in or tight. Also, I am not really looking for something of a slideshow nature on the page, which the previous and next buttons seemed to indicate you were looking to do. Other than those things, I would say its a nice looking design, and the colours fit in fairly well with the logo and the restaurant. Being that it is going to become a joomla template, and that in practicality most of the pages are going to have a main content section in the middle of the page, if you could design something that would have a main content section in each page, I think your odds of winning the contest would be much better. You can make it look nice etc, but there should be a clear main section where the principle content will go.
Due to the fairly high volume of people interested in this contest who haven't submitted their entries yet, I will extend this contest longer until the end of the day on Friday. Keep 'em coming!
Here is my another entry with different navigation! #1 http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk305/bizzard/Benjarestaurant-1.jpg #2 http://i283.photobucket.com/albums/kk305/bizzard/Benjarestaurant2.jpg
Jay-gorgeous work...I like the attention to detail in using actual thai dishes in the design, and the simple and clean layout. I am going to be talking to the person who is going to convert the template to a joomla template, as my concern about some of these templates is in the implementation. I want to make sure if the owner chooses a winning design, that it is one the joomla designer can implement in a way that is as attractive as the design was meant to be. Some of these designs are very attractive, and if they can be implemented cleanly in Joomla I will be very happy.
no problem about implementation. being a css/design integrator for wordpress and 8 other top cms, i make it a point to have my design be implemented very well in different cms and language. i can have this sliced for your joomla needs
3linedesigns - I sent you feedback immediately via private message when you made the submission...you even replied to me on it.
Ah I see...the buttons were not changed and the background is still of Chinese origin. The layout is a bit better for sure.
Hi Bizzard, its a nice way to do it, but, the menu doesn't feel complete...I don't know what would change it, maybe the lettering is too small, or the background should be a different colour...I don't know, I did like the previous menu bar more though. I would say overall I quite liked the first design more.
