knique, thank you for the revised entry! My client worries that it may be a bit too busy. The whole logo seems a bit too much tilted up. He's also worried the eagle's white head wouldn't look as good on a white background. This next feedback is for everyone... Please forgive me if my original request led to confusion about the text placement. We originally did not have any preference for the placement other than we didn't want it done in a circle around the logo. However, now after seeing entries with "American" on a line by itself my client would prefer the first line of text to read "American" and the second line to read "Maintenance & Supplies". Thank you for all of the great submissions and please keep in mind this contest will end at midnight (EST) on Saturday so be sure to get your new entries or modifications in by then.
ideosmil - my client likes this one a lot but the font reminds him of American Airlines. Could you use the same font you used in your last submission but still keep the eagle lying on top of the text? Thank you for another great submission!
100% Custom Original Design, Vector generated therefore this design can be sized and printed in any format without loosing the design integrity. Vector base design would be the only way to go. The font color has been the (0,50,99) RGB and/or CMYK: [100%;86%;34%;25%], the red has been the "Venetian Red", finally the various sizes in pixel and inch are as follow: a. 43x40 px; 0.597 x 0.556 in b. 136x125 px; 1.89 x 1.75 in c. 417x382 px; 5.78 x 5.39 in d. 107x98 px; 1.48 x 1.38 in 1. 224x60 px; 3.11 x 0.83 in 2. 336x90 px; 4.67 x 1.24 in 3. 467x125 px; 6.48 x 1.73 in 4. 630x168 px; 8.75 x 2.3 in Please, take into consideration the above image would be a composite and pixel image, which below 50px always dissipates in quality due to pixelation, however the file the buyer would receive is 100% vector all paths closed and an EPS file tweaked for printing.....Thanks for the opportunity, Enjoy!
knique, sorry, I can't give you feedback from my client in time for the deadline because I haven't heard from my client all day. My feedback, for what it's worth is that your design in post 25 focuses too much on the maintenance. The company primarily offers cleaning services and does mostly handyman type maintenance; meaning the wrench doesn't really fit with their overall marketing strategy. Sorry, I haven't more to tell you.
I have to say the contest has been fun, cause I enjoy creating with my tools, however, I do not think I will be making any more submissions...lol, for the creative process would be vague enough only, however it becomes extremely cumbersome when the direction comes in the form of "I think I want this, however I don't know what I want, yet I know I don't want that, nor that, nor that, try this, no not that, how about there, no over here"...lol The wrench says supplies the burst star says I do things with shine, the bird says you can be sure I will do it correctly, the wrench still says cleaning, I have seen designs entered into this competition that say I am an Insurance company, I am an athletic association, I like flags and eagles, and mine actually says I am a handy man, I have tools cleaning tools, painting tools, whatever you want I am a Handy Man or Person and I do my work like a shining star, with Pride....Well thanks and good luck, maybe your client might see it if you sell it, the way I just did.
knique, I am sorry that you feel as you do. When we started the only true decision made was that we wanted to have an eagle, to replace the original logo created by my client's grandfather when he started the business. We didn't specify a color until we got going because, like the eagle concept we knew only generally that we wanted red, white and blue. We wanted to provide a general starting point and see where it took us. I thought that was the whole idea behind the contest with public feedback for each of the designs. I've seen other threads yield amazing results with far less specific information in the initial request. We've both been excited to see so many artists participate here and how talented everyone is. I provided my client with a link to this thread and he has been checking it almost as often as I have been. I think he truly liked the concept of shooting stars. Your last entry is quite different from the others and perhaps my client will select it over one of the others. I made my suggestion thinking he might like the design but not the wrench and to give you the opportunity to switch out that part of the design. I thought I was helping you but it sounds like I only frustrated you. My apologies if that was the case.
Hello Everyone Thank you everyone for the many wonderful submissions! It was so exciting to have so many great designs to choose from. After my client and his family reviewed all of them, the winner is....ideosmil's entry in post #26.
First off congratulations ideosmil, great design..... To YMC: I put the lol (laugh out loud) and smileys in the message, to express the emotional state of the comment, I made the statement just to let contest holders realize how vague the creative process already has been, as an artist totally open to constructive criticism, I had fun with this contest, and I only really got involved because I had been watching it for days, an ideosmil seemed so lonely with no other artist to compare his feedback to: I actually thought he should win from the beginning and couldn't understand why anyone would want to see any other designs when as far as a classic eagle logo can go ideosmil had taken that concept as far as the eagle itself could go anyone following after him would have to do something daring and different which would be off the mark, so that was where I took a stance and tried to give that variation without copying ideosmil wonderful concept, so thanks, I was only jokingly discouraged, okay I apologize if the humor got lost in the comment
