$80 (U.S. via paypal) header design contest....

Hi everyone, I need a header graphic done for a website. I'm looking for a header similar to redsox[dot]com yet different enough to not be infringing on any copyrights. Also, please refrain from using any Red Sox logos, but feel free to use players. Keep in mind, I like the background of the green monster.

Size: 800 width x 100-200 height

The site the header will be used for is redsoxfanatics[dot]com, please put that somewhere in the header as well as "The Online Community For Red Sox Fans!" I would actually like a copy of the header file without any text as well as one with the text specified above (in case I need to change the name in the future).

I guess that's it for now, please let me know if I wasn't specific enough with anything. Winner receives $80 via Paypal.

I actually forgot to mention that although players in the header are OK, fans (in Red Sox gear, drinking beer, having a good time at a game, etc.) would be ideal.

LOL, I see you're from Melbourne? Australia right? I can understand why you wouldn't know what I meant.

The "Green Monster" is the wall in left field at Fenway Park in Boston. You can google it and a bunch of images come up. This wall is the "Green Monster":



As you can see on redsox[dot]com, this is what is used in their background.

Well, this was a pretty quick response so far. Some feedback:

jambo182 - I'm sorry, I think I'm looking for something more professional than you can provide.

mitcharr - I like the concept, but the words are difficult to read and Nomar Garciaparra (the guy on the right) isn't on the team anymore. Every Red Sox fan will pick that up instantly...LOL.

Hayes - Looks nice with a newspaper type feeling. I like it, but not sure if it's exactly what I'm looking for. As with mitcharr's, Johnny Damon is no longer on the team. Red Sox fans would crucify me if he (a Yankee now) was in the header. Hell, I'd hang myself for such blasphemy).

DaveyBoy - Don't change a thing. I was considering ending this when I saw your's. Probably one I'm gonna go with.

Alneo - I consulted my younger cousin (Red Sox fan) about your's and he said it would be one of the best if the background could show through more and it could use a border around the outer edge like DaveyBoy's. Also, could you do the same thing to the sub-title's font as you did with the main font? I like the bordered letters.

All in all, I may end up going with two winners when this is done, so I'm gonna keep it going until Sunday night (tomorrow night) @ 9:00pm EST. Everybody keep in mind, DaveyBoy is the frontrunner. That's pretty much the concept I'm looking for. Alneo close behind if the changes mentioned above can be made.

OK, that's it for now. Can't wait to see what we've got tomorrow.

haha i have never heard of the red Sox until now. Im not going to bother changing it as i know i cannot better daveys of alneos
