Hi guys, I'm looking for a simple and clean design for a proxy listing site. All I ask is that you try and be original and don't just create a proxy.org clone. The design doesn't need to be complex but do give some thought to the fact that I'll be getting some on page seo done once it's up... $60 $80 by paypal to the winner with no delays. Looking to get this all finalized as soon as I see a design I like... Price adjusted Dec. 22, 2008, 6:11 PM CDST.
Would prefer coded but will accept PSD only as it's not going to be a complex design and shouldn't take too much to have it coded after... As for examples mwolk.com and freeproxysite.com are decent examples of sites that are a bit more unique than the average cookie cutter proxy list. Overall the design needs to lend itself to easy implementation of the front page but then a second 'proxy list' page where I can have a larger more easily navigable list with additional information (see mwolk.com/proxy or www.tech-faq.com/proxy-sites.shtml). The front page should have a newsletter signup box (see evadefilters.com), a members username/password login, a 'browse with a proxy now' box, a simple list of proxies with maybe a couple of featured proxies at the top of the list, placements for at least 2 ad spaces (1x728 & 1x300 would be good) although the header itself should be clear of ads, and the header should contain links for Home, Contact Us, Proxy List, FAQ & Bookmark Us. A footer with the obligatory copyright notification along with a link to the terms of service and a privacy policy would be good too... Hopefully that's enough information to get everyone started
This is a good start but please see the additional information I've just posted. The "enter a url to visit" box is not bad but there's I don't see a need for there to be a second list of the proxies there. It can just be the input box and button and the site will take care of sending them somewhere or they can choose from the big proxy list to go direct to a specific site...
well, you should have written everything before... still, i can make those changes quite easily, if it's necessary, of course You see, I don't want to waste my time if I don't have chances to win
Well I'd definitely welcome another entry from you with the revised specs if you are willing to have a bash at it...
That's looking better but it's still not what I had in mind as the whole thing just feels quite flat.. I saw a great design here that gives a rough idea of the kind of styling I'm looking for but obviously themed to a proxy list site and with all the components I mentioned earlier... I'm also willing to increase the prize to US$80
Once again, you should have given this example of what you like before... I'm not sure if I'm going to try once more, prize is quite small, and there is a possiblity that you will change your mind one more time. Conclusion: it's not worth to waste my time here.
To each their own. I only just found this example and posted it as I thought it might offer some direction. Yes it's now $80... Hopefully that might encourage a bit more competition
I'm working on it, will have my entry this afternoon. By the way, you mentioned you would like some ad spaces (1x728 & 1x300), is that 1px or did you mean 100 px? Thanks
Of course, I'm pleased that other "designers" use my design as an example, but I'm 100% sure, that it would be much easier for you to win the contest using your own ideas! Good luck...
