i have submitted sitemap on to my site but in the sitemap there is 80 links but i got only 2 links indexed by google how can i make goolge index the rest of the links?
how long ago? google will indexes unique content only, if the page has little content or is too similar with some other pages of your site or somebody elses site, it will not index it
Maybe you need more backlinks. You could try to ping the pages. Somebody has posted a ping tool today.
There are so many factor under consideration to index the page like contents, backlinks , traffic, linking structure, navigation, optimized page, . even google tells us that "we wont index all pages that you submit , we will not spam our database." so only important pages on your site gets indexed
Have you sumitted your sitemap to Google webmaster tools? Mention the sitemap.xml file reference to robots.txt. It will get indexed.
I hate to jump on someone else's thread here but whitesparrow can I be a pain and ask how you would refer to the sitemap.xml within the robots.txt file? Thanks
Simply just add this string to your robots.txt replace the path the url http://name-of-your-website.com with your own url. You can name your sitemap anything but the standard is sitemap.xml. So it will look like this..
I would also like to add there can be a number of reasons why your links and or pages might not being indexed. If you are running any WordPress addons with no-follow features you might need to disable because it is telling the robot not to follow the link, which in turn means it will not be indexed. This no follow is good for like admin pages that you do not want to get indexed in search results.
google is very precise on what they approve ...... so if its unique then that would be great they accept right away
it will take a few weeks to index all the 80 pages. try pinging the pages to google using pingomatic or pingler.
there are a few ways to get the rest of your pages indexed the easiest way is time, over time as your site become more authoritative your pages will hold more weight so they will become indexed, another way is just to add a few backlinks so the search engines see them as important and content, make sure there is significant content that will enhance the user experience if you do that google will love you ;D
Create a good amount of Quality backlinks for your blog..... Interlinks is the keyfactor for indexing....At least install YERP plugin to your blog
