We have a site that we added adSense to today and so far we have a 80% CTR - will this high CTR cause any problems?

If this is 4 clicks from 5 impressions don't worry.

If it is 80 clicks from 100 impressions and it will continue in this area (but this can't be true, so there must be something what isn't within TOS) you could have problems.

So how do we bring down the CTR? these are all real clicks...

On some of our sites we get 2-5% CTR...

Do the opposite of what you've already done up to now to get that 80% CTR.

Are you crazy ??? If the clicks are legit you should not bring down the ctr. You should try to bring it even higher. But why do you ask the question here, why dont you ask the adsense team, ask them to take a look at your site and comment it. (and please tell us what they said)

Are you saying your entire site (assuming multiple pages) has an AVERAGE of 80% -- or this just a page or two? It's not unusual for some pages on a site to get 100% or more but other pages to get much less, bringing the average down.

Also it's not unusual for a small amount of traffic to generate high CTRs -- small amount of traffic and small number of clicks. But it would be very unusual for a site with high traffic to get 80% AVERAGE CTR. However, if the clicks are legit, why would you want to reduce the CTR? Google won't punish you simply for a high CTR.

our accout was at an average 2-5% CTR. Today we created a different channel for a site that we never has ads on. and that channel is getting 80%... bringing our overall account to about 25% for today...

this is a problem I would like to have! I say you e-mail Google about it and let them know about the situation so that they don't freak out and ban you later.
