8 years old domain does that matter to google?

i have a 8 years old domain which has not hosted any website for past 4/5 years. i m just curious if i set up a blog today would that help me rank higher in sERP? i heard google loves old domains ?? appreciate your feedback!

 

Yes in general Google tends to like older domains, as it proves "authority"

ehhhh yea it helps.. but you have to think about the SEO.. if there you are not hosing anything on the website meaning that you have no back links and so fourth pointing at it your still going to be jumbled millions of other peoples websites.. unless you have a good domain name that everyone wants.

 

I think Google will like your 8 years old domain. It will be in a better position for SEO and SEPR. May even have pr.

If the domain is empty which mean there is no content for 1 years then it will effect your SERP.
After 4/5 years G will view your domain as new domain.
This is due to G put the content of site in the first place.
