    Hi everyone

    Well i've had my site up and running for 8 months now and it's doing ok apart from the adsense earnings being low. The site however is doing good

    PR2

    6000 + urls

    1000 indexed

    good rankings in serps

    My adsense earnings are low though, in 8 months i have only made about $50. I've managed to figure out that some of the ads are high paying, about $2 per click. I've tried moving the posistioning with little sucess so if anybody could suggest a way to improve i'd be happy to listen. url is www.live-laptops.com

    I think the answer and the problem lies in when you say 'good rankings in the serps'.

    I would personally disagree and say that your SERPs rankings aren't good enough, as the traffic to your site is very low by Alexa's standards. How many visitors do you get a day? With a CTR of 2-3% and 0.5$ per click, you need traffic of 1000 per day to earn $15 per day. So as you can see, Search Engine Optimisation is probably the place you need to work most on.

    Only when you have a good amount of traffic should you worry too much about ad placement stategies etc.

    Whats your niche? It all depends on that and the bidding price.

    You can see from the site that the niche is Live Laptops, with the adsense cpc being based on laptops I presume. Should be reasonable cpc.

    With an Alexa Ranking of 3,000,000 however, you must only be getting 10-40 visitors per day. And with levels like that, you can't expect more than 1 click per day, so regardless of your cpc and niche, you won't be earning a good amount.

    Thanks for the help. You guys are right i'm not getting lots of traffic at all. Average of about 50 a day. When i mean good serp rankings my pages rank well for the keywords and article subjects, usually in the top 5.

    The niche is a bit strange, it does cover laptops but also music production software/hardware which is also not a bad niche, ads pay ok. The laptop ones pay better though.

    So it looks like i need more traffic. I'm aware various traffic and SEO techniques but i guess i need to get targeted traffic. Would it be any help to write more and more content and then SEO and promote that or concentrate promoting the content i have already? Any ideas?
