My dedicated server on Hostgator has gone down again today (second time in two weeks), so I'm thinking about purchasing this server from Liquidweb, which is a lot more powerful than my dedicated server on Hostgator, which I believe would be a lot better for my websites, so we can promote, and have no downtime at all.
LiquidWeb is awesome and I have loved their services. LiquidWeb offers FULL backups of your whole server. My server has been up for 56 days (since the day we purchased it) and I have been extremely happy with it. I recommend going with their managed solution. It's only an additional $20/mo for cPanel and it makes it quite worth it to have them managing it (remember fsmedia sent you! )
Haha, I'll remember that, but one question - if you contacted Liquidweb and ask them if they can restore sql backups, can they do it for you?
They sure can I run 120gb drives on my server and one acts as a backup. They will do basically whatever you want them to do. I've even had them look at individual PHP scripts and they've helped me sort through errors with them
Wow, that's great to hear. I'll have to keep an eye out on Liquidweb, because I might need some stronger hardware for our websites soon.
Definitely worth the price they charge. I pay a hefty monthly fee, but I value every cent I invest into the server and I get quite the return. We ran into problems with custom compiling PHP, but they spend hours on the phone with me (most hosts wouldn't) trying to get it fixed, only to find out that we didn't need to do it anyway. We ran into some problems at first, but they were fixed within the hour if not less. They are a smaller company based in TX, but they have awesome tech support and service. I don't plan on ever using another company for managed services. I'm actually looking at buying a second server soon from them as well, because we've been so happy with their service.
I live in Texas, so if I ever rant into probablems with a server on Liquidweb (when I buy), I could give them a quick call. How big are your websites that are on your dedicated server on Liquidweb? Do they get a ton of traffic? If you don't me asking and all.
I get well over 1 million uniques on a monthly basis when you look at my whole network. It always has a low load average. We run dual opterons with 2gb of ram. Whether you're in TX or not, the wait time will be the same (normally a minute or less) to get on the phone with them.
Hostgator is starting to piss me off now. We submit a ticket, two hours later they say problem has been fixed - an hour or so later, server is having trouble. We purchased our dedicated server from Liquidweb yesterday afternoon and haven't ran into any problems.
