Contest $75 Logo Contest - WP Update Engine - 5 day Contest

Hope you like it, Feedback Appreciated

 

A nice concept, but just not liking the logo or choice of font. The logo just looks a little too simple. The colour choices are good though...

An interesting style, but it's not bold enough for me. I'm looking for something that's really striking and has high impact. So a relatively complex icon with strong thick lines.

Yeah, comments as above really. Still not keen on the icon - really sorry!! A better font though, just need text to the right of the icon.

Very bold design, looks very good indeed. The mixture of fonts looks a little wrong though. The font for "Update Engine" doesn't look right.....

Great choice of colours, the text needs to be to the right of the icon. Not a fan of the font though. I can see where you're going with the icon, it does look great, but doesn't really fit the brand.

Really nice design. The style of text is great, although there's just too much variation in font style. I'd be much better if ENGINE was the same font as UPDATE. The icon is really good, like the floor shadow... wondering if there's any variation you can do with the icon?

Wow, you've been busy! The darker orange/red works well. However, as comments state above, it's a little to simplistic. Thanks so much for your hard work!

 

Very nice indeed. The font choice is good, and colour scheme is good too. The style of the cogs makes it look less like an engine, and more like a nautical steering wheel... which is a little confusing. Also, the text needs to go to the right of the icon.

Great choice of blue, but not keen on the icon I'm afraid. Just doesn't grab me... sorry! Thanks for your entry.

I can see that we're settling on a style here... icon is ok, the arrow in the middle looks odd though. Font choice and colour scheme is ok. Don't be afraid to try different colours.

Yeah, unfortunately, you had submitted several similar designs without waiting for feedback. Also, much of the feedback I am submitting is being ignored, so I have to keep repeating myself.

Tried something a bit different

 

Nice, simple. Like the inset on the font for the blue. The icon is good, but it's still quite simplistic... I've now seen lots of this style of icon, and it's ok.

Hmm, I like your 1st and 2nd variations, they're really good. I think I prefer the cog style of 3/4, but the colour style of 1/2.

 

No problem. Design contests are time intensive! Your designs are very smart and interesting, I do like variation 2 and 3, but variation 1 is the best one. The text, when shown inline with the icon isn't quite right. Maybe the WP needs to be bigger or something. So the font alignment needs working I think.

I think this is my favourite design so far.

Good font choice and colours. The middle does look a little like a gun sight, which is not quite what I'm after.....

The text is great. The blue colour works well, and I can see the change in the design of the text looks good.

A note to all: The cog is clearly a running theme and works ok. In the final couple of days of the contest, I'm looking for any new concept that might appear with the icon. The cog has been done in pretty much every design... given key words are "Update" and "Engine" is there anything that can be done that looks more engine like?

I really appreciate everyone's time, clearly a lot of effort is going into this.
