Thanks again. A few comments: scorpionagency, SalahStudios.com, gfxpr0, & fujimoto are the closest. Again, nice variety in approaches. scorpionagency: I like the concept, and it's a top contender. The person in the logo may look just slightly off, like their back is a little too much arched gfxpr0: Also a top contender. The abstractness is neat. The words could standout more from the icon (but not overboard) so people are more likely to remember the site name. Itaydr: A bit too far on the abstract side. Chewysmom: Neat, but I don't care for the gradient used in the word colors. Not sure about the red. I do like the figure (person) in it. SalahStudios.com: Much better than your first two and a top contender. Perhaps a more rounded font and slightly smaller icon. fujimoto: #19 is a top contender. #22 I need to think about - I had not given previous thought using the initials. Dakouten: A bit too abstract ing_pacz: I like the flowing lines, but I don't think it fits with the words. The 3-block one is neat after I looked at it for a while and kind of "read" the icons from left to right. However, the icons dominate the logo too much. eternal.light: Thanks for blowing it up. Now that I can see detail, I wonder if the flowing icon is upside-down. It kind of looks like a person's head is getting squished by the words. I'm not sure on the font or the gradient. Sorry if I missed any, I wanted to provide feedback to all since you took the time to enter a logo. My business partner had a family emergency, but I'll be able to bounce these off of her in the morning for her feedback, which I will share if she has any.
Thanks Steve, here is the first revision of my third entry: Let me know if there is anything else you'd like to see.
I showed the top ones around, and SalahStudios.com received the best response. A few were pointed out to be too much like gymnastics rather than Pilates. Revisions should focus on core strength and flexibility. Google image search for "Pilates" to see help see the difference. Thanks for all the work so far!
Thanks for your comments. Regarding abbreviations, many companies use them in a logo because sometimes it is much easier to remember a few letters versus the whole title, especially yours being quite lengthy (in marketing perspective). I don't know what you plan on doing with the logo other than the website header so I guess it might not matter whether it has a memorable symbol or lettering. There are rules to creating logos and I like to follow them - no reason to guess the work when the research has been done and some things are proven to work better than others I can modify that box without initials as well if you want to see it.
fujimoto: In Post #32, I like it, but that's not a Pilates pose. For those struggling with what a Pilates pose looks like, if you search in google images, include "-yoga" in your query: http://images.google.com/images?hl=...yoga&btnG=Search+images&aq=f&oq=&aqi=&start=0 or http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&um=1&sa=1&q=pilates+-yoga&aq=f&oq=&aqi=&start=0
It was a tough decision, and most of the work submitted was very professional. I ended up showing these around to several people and a couple consistently rose to the top. I'm going with fujimoto's last submission, which I think will do exactly what we need it to. fujimoto, please send payment details! Thanks everyone!
