    Afternoon DigitalPoint Members-

I would like to get a new logo for a mutual fund based out of Penn State University (USA), and need a professional designer to get this accomplished. We are an investing club and need a fresh spin on a logo we had made over 5 years ago. The current logo is clunky and doesn't really have anything to do with our club. We would like the new logo to feature the name of our organization ("PSIA") along with relevant images in the design.

    Old Logo: [IMG]
(Text looks awkward and crammed together, the charging bull isn't too bad but the lightning bolt is irrelevant... the logo would never lead you to believe it is a mutual fund from Penn State)

    Design Idea:
Because we are a student organization from Penn State University, I would recommend using the Nittany Lion as a sort of "background" to the logo (http://climate.psu.edu/links/CDPW/08_lion_shrine.jpg). I would prefer that this be hand-drawn in the background with PSIA and a finance-related drawing on top. We are a student-run investment fund, so I think that a good image to have in the logo in some way would be one of the following: a stock chart, wall street bull (and/or bear), a ticker board, up/down arrows, etc.

This needs to be 100% professional and "simple" in nature. Don't use too many flashy colors or anything, this is a business professional logo. We will be accepting entries and paying the winning design $75 for the work. Ideally, we will have this completed within a week, but may take the first logo we see so make sure to bring your A game :D

    Best Regards.

Looks like a great start imdoggz, I would make the lion more transparent and put PSIA much bigger smack dab in the middle. This is supposed to be a smaller logo, so I fear that if it looks like that I wouldn't be able ot read it when it gets smaller. The icon of people shaking hands is interesting, but I don't think it is what we are going for... try something more financial. Thanks!

Thats way too tricky, and I think you were a LOT closer on your first attempt. The coins weren't a "bad" idea, but I don't think it was really executed correctly and the PSIA text still is not big enough on the lower two enough (and looks awkward on the first two). Keep it MUCH simpler than that, and remember that I want the logo to be black/grey/off-white

We are going to end the contest Sunday, March 28 at 11:59PM EST

    Keep those entries coming!
Chewysmom is on the right track, but I really don't care too much for the binocular-type border
Masjacky, that is definitely interesting... perhaps simplifying it a bit more and replacing the people with something more relevant to Wall Street (a bull, ticker board or a stock chart) would be the ticket

Aderain, its a bit too "web 2.0" whereas we are looking for something that looks hand-drawn and simple. I think you have a great starting idea, so keep up the good work, but it definitely needs to be simplified quite a bit. I'm going to try to sketch something and get it submitted tonight. Stay tuned!

We still haven't really fallen in love with any of the designs, the more revisions the merrier!

Zyndtel and Aderain, I really like where you guys are going with your designs

Zyndtel: I would remove those coins, and replace it with some kind of stock chart (I like your second design more)
Aderain: I like where you are headed, maybe make the chart a little different, integrate it into the letters a little bit. Maybe you make the "A" in "PSIA" the end of an uptrend (the arrow -->) in the chart?
