@ Naidz, I like the second entry although I'm not fond of the background stuff. It seems a little too busy but I like the character and the shield.

@ alexander, I like that quite a bit! Don't love the favicon but I like the larger banner quite a bit.

Hi,

Thank you for holding this contest.

I have hand drawn the character in adobe illustrator cs3. It is a vector image, fully scalable and available in ai, eps, along with a variety of other formats.

For an extra effect, the character's head is a little over the banner, but the entire image is the size you specified.

Exactly my question. Some of the submissions are ORIGINALS while some are pre made characters. The competition does not seem fair because creating originals take a lot of time. Please clarify.

 

Thanks, took me a total of 5 hours from scratch, start to finish (Including revisions). As far as the pose, maybe, maybe not. We all have different styles in how we design just like everyone has a different taste in what they like to see. Judging from some of the commentary, My style just isn't fitting to the taste.

It's not a bad thing, I wouldn't invest in something I didn't like either.

The character was painted by one of my friends that is studying Art's, i made all the other stuff.

~30 minutes painting
~10 minutes Corel
~20 minutes Photoshop

If there is anything you want me to modify in my entry let me know.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the standard Apple wallpaper copyrighted? Does partially coloring the background void the copyright? Just asking for clarification

 

Exactly..one is actually thor if I remember correctly.

 

I put together an illustration sample for my portfolio & figured I would post it here as well seeing that there seems to be confusion as to what's original & whats not. In a nut shell, if one can NOT break down their design into at least a simple process (as shown Below) then its more than likely NOT original.


I rather enjoyed this contest & I feel it will be a Great addition to my growing portfolio.​

 

@WeRASkitzzo The character from my entry, my friend just painted C.America with different colors and i added some effects but if you want us to, example: delete the star he haves and the head wings then we can do that.

Just let me know what to modify there.

Also comments are appreciated.
