$75.00 One-Page Uncoded Design Contest.

I like this one the best out of your submissions. It's missing something, but I'm just not sure what.

 

Here's my concept entry for this content, hope you like it.

 

A very nice design, and the one I like the best so far out of all the submissions for this contest. The only things I do not like are:

1. The red box the 468x60 banner is in. It just looks blah.
2. The darkness of the red for the content headers. Maybe try and match them up to the reds in the logo? Not sure how that'd look.

 

I will surely make this updates, and post a higher resolution screenshot since that one is blurry.

Here's the updated revision.

 

Much better. I have a few more modifications/additions.

1. Alter the right side ad space to a 120x600px spot instead of a 160x600 ad space. Then shift the content to the right.


2. I need a place to highlight the top 10 voted games, and possibly a game news or reviews box. To do this, I think it might be best to eliminate the left side 160x600 ad space and allocate the remainder of the 40px we chopped off the right side ad space to it. This should give us at least 200px to work with to do the following:

- Top Content Box will contain a list of 10 games and their current vote tally beside them. (Same format as the Top Standings for December box on http://www.directoryofgames.com)

- Second Content Box will contain a Gaming News or Game Reviews feed.

- Under both of these there should be room to place a 200x200px Advertisement


3. Think you could mock up a rollover effect on the top navigation links?


4. Shift the site logo to the left by about half of the distance from the border to the absolute left of the logo. Should be something like 25px or so I'd imagine.


Other than that, I'm quite impressed at how this looks.

Has all the qualities that I want, and it is good, but it still seems to just not have enough graphical pop. It just seems to be too flat and generic.

I'm going to try to make something, don't stop the contest... just I'm not sure if I will come up with sth really professional, I don't have much time

A very nice design. The concept is similar to what I want, but the template itself just seems flat. Do something to the bars on the top of the boxes.

 

sth diferent from the others, as u can see, it's smaller than original, and not finished hehe I'm not sure if u r going to like this idea, so I'm trying to save my time:


ADITION: huh, the quality of this image (only) looks so bad.. sorry

 

The concept is cool, but I don't like it. Sorry.
