7000 uniques today, advice needed

I started a blog in Jan this year but for one reason or another didn't have time to do much with it. For the last couple of weeks I've started writing daily and promoting it.

Gradually the traffic has gone up and today I hit 7000 unique visitors by the afternoon. When I compare this to a site I've been working on for years which only gets around 1000, I feel like I could make some serious money if I can keep up the work.

I've been using adsense on the blog but I'm earning maybe $1 a day. Has anyone got any tips on other options I could try or how to improve the adsense.

    Thanks :)

Indeed. Is it quality traffic? If not, it could explain your lack in productivity from adsense.

If it is quality, you might want to switch to affiliate links. They usually make more than CPM networks and adsense.

7000 unique visitors and $1 is impossible... your not telling us something I fear.

Where is your traffic coming from

This needs to be in the adsense forum not adwords

but as a note on your 7k visits if its social media traffic your probably not going to get much adsense revenue as social media surfers tend to surf quickly and not click on ads. Search engine traffic converts great for adsense and pays out more.... But that's my experience. I used to get 10k social media visitors a day and very little adsense, then I cut social media and just got search traffic. I get 10 times more income with 10 times less traffic

    Hope that helps

I think like robertpriolo. I have optimized my Adsense code to show only ads to search engine visitors. If you show ads to social network traffic your CTR will lower dramatically (because they don't click on ads) and you will receive poorer paid ads.

Try affiliate links or CPM advertising like ValueClick.

If there are a lot of click outs from your site, try linkbucks. They pay you for all clicks from your site!
