Comment: 1. Provide in the readme for how people can change the CHARSET, because not everyone is on a latin1, and that may cause problems. 2. Sometimes the use of AUTO_INCREMENT causes problems with some users. Let them know they can delete it shoudl they run into problems. 3. Also, with the use of a Fields as LONGTEXT; that is not supported by all builds of mySQL. Again, different builds = differes issues, and those who try it will need help, because they would have already of changed their phpLD to accomodate accordingly (as TEXT), and the .sql dump uses LONGTEXT, so anomalies will happen. All in all a good 98% of people shouldn't have a problem. Just realize that different MySQL builds as well as different versions of phpLD cause for different issues. So try to be as thorough as possible when trying to lend a helping hand. Rob
No problem Dan. If you need any help or if any problems occur when someone is using them, let me know. One other suggestion would be to state that these are for brand new directories categories. We wouldn't want to see someone that isn't verse enough to not understand this, and wipe out their already established category structure on accident. heheh, believe me, you'd be surprised. Rob
My category dump tends to be the one used on new directories now. It's becoming very common, and I am noticing it when I do directory submissions. Amusingly, I created the directory dump to make my life easier when doing submissions (due to the lack of sensible categories). Seems it was worthwhile!
I think is great idea to have this category dump but…. Is not bad all these sites with the same categories and probably almost the same sites on then? I think this will trigger a duplicate content penalization!
Possibly, but there's nothing stopping directory owners from adding and removing categories as they need.
