$700 a month for a PR6 with 7000 pages?

I enquired about a banner ad on a VoIP site to advertise mystore and take advantage of their PR6 juice. Check out these prices for a banner ad on a blog which receives 30,000 unique hits a month and an alexa rating of 260k.

728x90 Lead banner throughout the site for $700 / mo. (3 months for $1800)
120x600 Side tower banner throughout the site for $550 / mo. (3 months for $1500)
125x125 Square banner throughout the site for $450 / mo. (3 months for $1200)
120x60 Banner on VoIP Providers page ONLY for $300 / mo. (3 months for $800)

Do you think these prices are a bit outrageous? They seem like PR8 or 9 prices for me.

The problem for you is if that ads are sold on consistent basis there is probably nothing you can do with it. Put yourself in their place.

It's too much, yea. But it costs as much as people buy. Why they need to sell for less ? It's ads. So "volume business" don't apply there. The reason you didn't stated blog URL also speaks for itself:)

However you should bargain a bit:)

They might deliver alot of traffic to your ad and that is why price is high. I think your paying for vistors to your site not the page rank.

I hope they send you a lot of traffic and exposure because that is very expensive for pr6 links. I've seen pr8 links that are MUCH cheaper.

30,000 unique hits a month and an alexa rating of 260k.

    Thats a rip?

    I get atleast 10,000 a month
my alexa is is 400k (Alexa isnt a really good rating system)

And I charge give or take $25 a month (Lowest) and its a forum but its a pr2 main page but many of the inside pages are pr 1-3

The price is high only if no one will pay it. Maybe they do not want to sell very many of these. Maybe it is worth it and they sell it for that price because that is the price people are paying them right now. I would not do it, but that is just my opinion.

You arent makign a good comparison dude :p
PR6 is definitely way more expensive than a pr2.

Other reasons are because they are a niche site and advertising campaign are targeted to that specific niche (may worth more). and i agree with what jschuman said. They might be trying to limit the amount.

For alexa rating 260k is too expensive. I have a domain with pr3 and alexa rating is 250k and i'm sure never nobody give me for a banner 100$/month.
