    I read that too and it said when they observed him/watched him for a week a while back, he didn't eat but he lost weight. Why would he only lose weight the week he was being watched?

    I don't know about latest studies. They only kept him in a hospital for observation for around 2 weeks.

    He might have been kept in hospital in case he gets some problem. Starvation can lead to death.

    If he has the normal body temprature of 37.5 Degrees not eating for 70 dayswill kill you (And yea, it means that 70 years will atleast kill you!).
