Well if you enter a design with a stock photo then the logo it isn't unique. I could go and buy the exact same photo and use it myself and it would be the same as yours. It's hardly being creative and I'm sure the OP doesn't want something that could be easily copied. I'll end my rant here.

 

Originality is pretty important, i don't mind too much if you take inspiration from a stock photo, but it shouldn't be exactly like it. I didn't like that design anyway Electrix, but thank you for pointing it out (That it was from stock).

Scorpian Agency - Firstly, I'd need to see it on the design, but the 'fiend' character looks more like a 'pimp' than anything else. Plus there's too much going on. It should be simpler. Text is also a bit complicated.

 

Make sure to read ALL stock sites License Policies. As you can see, even with a PAID extended license you can not use stock/clipart in a logo.

 

Thanks for the info Scorpianagency! I Really do appreciate the info. I won't be picking any themes that use stock photos that break any license agreement.

Ghosthost - are your other designs also from a stock photo? No point in hiding / lying. I'll find out anyway

No you didn't spend a long time on it. You ripped that cartoon from istockphoto aswell...

I'll stop calling people out from now on. Remotay, just keep an eye out for stock images.

 

No need to stop, the point of an open contest kept in the thread is to help protect the client (Contest holder) from possible lawsuits in the future. I am sure he is appreciative & seeks original work. I have added +Rep for your excellent work in catching the License violators.

Thanks guys. I would be adding Rep if I knew how since DP changed its layout. I Really do appreciate you guys pointing these things out. I'll be keeping an eye out for stock photo usage. It's always good to see some honest people here on DP. So +Rep to you, good sirs. (Once I figure it out).

Also keep in mind, I want the character / fiend design to be simple. So there's no need to use stock photos. Keep the entries coming.

gipanuhotko - Text is nice, but the fiend looks a bit too cartoony. It should be friendly and blend nicely with the theme.

To everyone: Here's an idea. Maybe give the character a Monocle and a Suitcase? Plus he could be wearing a Fedora hat. But it shouldn't look 'evil'. It should look a bit funny
