We are looking for a logo for our company - Poker Tournament Consultants.

The logo must be original and professional looking. It will be used on a company website, signage, letterhead, etc. Therefore the logo must be clean and have brandablity and vector. The color scheme is open.

The duration will be approximately one week, deadline will be announced ASAP. ( I reserve the right to close early or extend based on the acceptability of submissions)

The winner will receive $70 USD via PayPal (or if you'd like cash transfer on FullTilt or PokerStar).

The Winning Designer will also need to be able to provide a favicon and a few different sizes and variations to use as banners (we will supply dimensions). Please be able to deliver in vector (.eps) format as well as .png with a transparent background.

About the website / company: We run the largest poker tournaments in the world. Our team is the staff at the World Series of Poker. We also run certain World Poker Tour Events as well as many other large tournaments. You can catch us running poker tournament on any given night on ESPN, GSN (the Game Show Network) and the Travel Channel. The website is very new. The purpose in building the website is to develop a web presence and showcase our services and talents. We know the first step is develop a brand able logo that will be easily recognizable and provide instant association with our company. Then we will probably be using this forum to have the website redesigned and coded.

Good Luck to all. I look forward to your submissions.

I'd like to join but the description seems sketchy.

Surely the company behind the worlds largest poker tournaments would have a budget bigger than $70 for a contest on DP? Also, a google search doesn't bring up any relevant results for "Poker Tournament Consultants" and your iTrader is 0.

I would like to join and I hate to sound like a skeptic, but I'm sure most people here would like some more assurance that this is legit.

Interesting Response. OK I suppose that is a fair question since I am new and all of your time is very valuable.

My name is Bill Bruce. I joined this forum to outsource some of the growing needs of projects I am involved with. My first contest was earlier this week. Here is what I wrote there:

"I am starting with a logo for my personal website billbruce.info so that I can get a feel for how the contests work. I will follow it up immediately with a contest to design the logo for our business site PokerTournamentConsultants.com … I will pay $45 USD via PayPal to the best submission. There will be a winner chosen no matter what. I have seen the submissions for some other contests and I am confident that there are many talented people here. I look forward to what will be the first of many business transaction that I will be making here…." Here is the contest link.

This contest finished up yesterday and I am sure the winner will be happy to comment "speedy payment" as soon as he logs on today and gives me his info so I can transfer the $$$ via PayPal. My PayPal account is loaded and ready.

As I said in the starting post for this contest "The website is very new. The purpose in building the website is to develop a web presence and showcase our services and talents. We know the first step is develop a brand able logo that will be easily recognizable and provide instant association with our company."

If you visit the website PokerTournamentConsultants.com you will see that it is a very new page (pathetic really, I can say that because I coded it myself and I've never intended it to remain as the real page. I don't profess to have any skill in this area however I did write it from scratch on Notepad). Now that the final table of the World Series of Poker is over (last week) I have time to finish this project. As for the inability to find any relevant results for "Poker Tournament Consultants" we have not conducted business yet under that name. As you can see that name is not yet ready for prime time, but I hope to change that over the next few weeks.

In closing, while I understand SitPoMk's remarks I am hopeful that some of the talented designers here will recognize the value of being associated with our new websiteas we establish a presence on the web.

Thanks a lot for your reply, appreciated. I didn't want to get off on the wrong foot but here in the contest section there are a lot of people who "abandon" contests and my assumption is they either steal the designs or they just lose interest. So, we've developed a sharp eye for authenticity ;)

Thanks for the description, I'll be posting my design either tonight or tomorrow.

edit: Can you give some specifics for the type of look you are going for? Is it supposed to be simplistic web.20 style? Intimidating pokerish style .. or more friendly?

Wide Open for now. Think professional. "the logo must be clean and have brandablity. Prefer vector logo, but not required if entry can be scaled. The color scheme is open."

Prefer vector logo, but not required if entry is a high quality one.
