The list on how not to get links was priceless. I've heard of most of the ideas on how to get links in some way or another, but it was good to have a full list in front of me.
Thanks for the resource. It really summed up ways to you focus on link building and not just on one in particular.
Thanks for the tips. It's very informative and funny too. I won't forget this one: #5 Email Problogger, CNN, Boing Boing, and Youtube asking for a link exchange.
"18. Scratch other people’s cars. Leave a note that displays your link. Tell them if they link to you you will pay them back. Who knows? It could be the owner of Lifehacker." Very funny!
the tips are not well explain. There is no explanation available. For example he mention the link bait yet he did not elaborate how to do that technique. Hope he have more information to share.
great information but i have to disagree to one of 'the do not' ways to get links, someone i know was on the FDA site because of the product he sold and after that the traffic to his traffic increased so did his sales, not always but sometimes it pays off to become infamous
i agree with Publisher-For-You that widgets can be very powerful for creating links. i think you should add them to your list. with widgets, basically you give something for free to a website owner and you get a link back in return. no money needs to change hands. one thing that you have to be careful of in widget creation, is that the link itself is crawlable. using widget platforms like google gadgets and widgetbox do not (as far as i can tell) allow for crawlable and static links back to your site. so we create links from scratch.
