Bee Zee, Totally with you on the how rediculous a question is "What will my PR be with 70K back links". Like someone could come up with some mystical number off the top of there head when SO many factors go into play. Some of the things I don't get is in one post you brag about getting a PR5 because you have some intiment knowledge of the PR algo. Next you say that PR doesn't mean anything and that its a waste of time. If your the SEO stud you are passing yourself as, posting in a forum that is dedicated to helping each other out, why don't you inform us all about your knowledge.
You guys are killing me. I still can't believe this question has drawn a serious discussion here. If your going to post a question that CAN'T be answered, such as the question that started this thread, at least make it a relevant question. IF 70,000 BACKLINKS WHAT WILL MY SERP'S POSITION BE??? If your chasing PR instead of position it's because you have all the money you need and too much free time. Have fun chasing the carrot. BH
That is very true I went in sandbox with only 13K links build in 1 months time period and stayed in sandbox till I removed all my backlinks. He he I has to pay one guy to remove links Then I was again back in SERP's within 1 months time
I wasn't bragging, I was mearly demonstrating how rediculous the initial question was - It makes as much sense as asking "how long is a piece of string", and people giving an answer such as PR5, is as stupid as saying "3 feet 4 inches". To answer your other questions, I got a PR5 from a single homepage link from a powerful and trusted PR6 site. To your other question of intiment knowledge of the PR alog, then no I don't have a intiment knowledge - I have just read what is freely available on the net - such as: http://www.ianrogers.net/google-page-rank/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PageRank
Wow, if you are so good why is there only one backlink? And you said "Powerful and trusted" Pr6 site, meaning you are admitting PR is important.
You really don't get it do you. There's only one backlink because its a holding page - I wanted it to get indexed before the site launches to get it in googles index early so I can try and avoid the sandbox. Yes I said a "Powerful and trusted PR6 site" - that does not mean PR6 means powerful or trusted. It simply means that the site is A/. powerful (at passing PR), B/. trusted (has a high trust rank) C/. PR6. All are mutually exclusive!! IE the PR5 holding site it links to is a NOT POWERFUL, UNTRUSTED, PR5 site!
No - nofollow is a link that will not be counted as a backlink - Display none is a hidden link. It "may or may not" count as a backlink, but its cloaking and could result in a penalty to the site its on - not the site it links to. Essentially this is a very obvious method of cloaking and easily picked up by search engines, but it could also be used for legitimate purposes, so it is questionable if it will result in a penalty or not.
