without having seen your sites or your submissions, i am guessing you didn't follow their rules for submission.

they are reasonably strict, but if you follow them, you will get in.

unless your sites are total crap...

I would give up. Most of the categories don't even have editors.

I wouldn't worry too much about the DMOZ listing, it only adds a little value to your site as a whole, DMOZ isn't really taken that much seriously these days. Concentrate on getting other quality links, and if you're really eager to get your website listed in DMOZ, try and contact an editor who has permissions to edit the criteria you're trying to get listed in.

    Good luck :).

Cant agree more with UKWF! Creating a high quality website first is more important to get SE-traffic!

By the way I forgot to add, make sure when you're submitting your website the other websites you submit along with it aren't in any way related to your own, DMOZ take this as SPAM and will not approve your submittion.

P.S. I love your website some very good content on there, thanks ;).

You could write an article about it and distribute it or propose a story to bloggers for backlinks so to have some use from 7 years of waiting.

What DMOZ won't tell you is that they are basically closed to new listings, and have been for at least 5 years, maybe more.

New categories will get filled, but existing categories only get trimmed and corrected unless there are only a few listings in it. Then a site or two may get added.

As one editor said in the forum years ago "How many sites do we really need to list in a category? Certainly not hundreds."

In my category, an editor opens it once a year and changes the "last edited on" date. That's all. He/she doesn't touch a thing other than the date. It's a joke.

Forget DMOZ. They tell you themselves to submit and forget.

where does this information come from? not only is it wrong but you're talking as if you know what you're saying and spreading it around.

this'd be funny if it weren't so sad.

submitting to DMOZ is as simple as this:

    1. follow the DMOZ guidelines
    2. if in doubt, refer to #1.

One of my customers sites got accepted by dmoz a week ago. It took about 2 weeks to get in.

Unfortunatly none of my sites have made it in though :-(
