I have tried Windows 7 (32 and 64bit)! I have to say that it works better than Vista in my case.
Through I use Windows Vista 64bit SP1 and I will use Win7 for sure when Final version comes out!

Windows 7, trashed my old XP. Give it a try, I can assure you will not get back to any other OS. The perfect OS for new comps, ideal for multicore processors.

Im using DOS and it works great. I do lots of coding using DOS system. problem is I don't know how to use it on internet. :D I recommend windows 3.1 since you dont need large mem or processor to run it if you want GUI.

Xp is outdated and 7 is beta stage. Both are risk to install. Go for vista or wait for windows7. XP will be stoped soon. Also support will be withdrawn within few years. Microsoft itself says xp is security risk.

The Windows 7 beta is free (until like July), faster than XP, easier on the eyes, and completely stable. I am on it and have never been more impressed with MS. Go for 7.

Intresting how 7 is only 8 votes higher than XP. I mean it seems like people don't like 7, if it is the icon taskbar then there is an option in the beta to display text like older versions of Windows.

win 7 ftw! Even though it is beta its worth it. I have been using it for over a month with few problems, which is good considering it being in beta!

I agree 100%. It's sad to see all these people rolling back to XP. And to actually try and compare an OS from 2001 to an OS that's not even released yet is ridiculous. I'm not even going to put my vote in.

To all those who are pro-XP -- You're stuck in the past man!!

We're comparing XP to a "beta" which is "publicly" avaiable now sure its not released yet but there won't be many revisions either because it runs very smooth as of now. ;)

Since 7 is still a beta, install XP for now. However, you may play around with 7 since I heard its faster than Vista, less resource hog than Vista and some even say its a big improvement over XP. Install XP on your main computer and 7 on your demo computer for testing.
