I'd recommend Windows 7 :], its really good, a huge improvement over Vista, it may look similar but the way the new Dock works is extremely good, its a lot like Vista + Leopard mixed together.. and I find the Aero Shake feature useful, where you shake the window and it hides all other windows open and vise versa.. Anyway my recommendation is give it a try. Heres a video of me using Windows 7 (My PC is 2yrs old)
Agreed. I am running Vista64 Ultimate on Quad-core processor with 8gig of ram and have no problems whatsoever.
I prefer XP because it's a nice stable OS. Although I've tried the Windows 7 BETA and as far as I can tell it works great, we shall see once it is released.
I'm kind of anxious to try out the new 7. I mean, I'd like to move ahead in the game, but vista has me standing still in my tracks.
Tried 7 but wasn't that impressed. Plan to stay on XP until MS releases an OS that is actually worth the trouble to upgrade. Will be interesting to see what businesses decide to do. I should mention that I am using Bricopack Vista Inspirat 2 (vista-like gui for xp) and Niftywindows for window management...so it's not exactly a "stock" xp install.
I tried Windows 7 on my sisters machine, AMD 3400+ Sempron, integrated video, looks like it lags BUT its due to the on board video, I tried a 6600GT on it, and it works fairly quick.. so if you do have an old system you will need a 128MB video to get most out of the OS..
Agree. I don't want to be a tester too. Remember that it is an Operating System, not just a normal software
I would wait till windows 7 is completed and read the reviews before installing it. I have a feeling windows 7 will be good as microsoft has learnt it lesson from windows vista which was a big downfall.
Vista is a very big mistake for M$ (they even say so themselves) but I'm glad to see after trying windows 7 they are back on track and XP lovers will love windows 7, very quick and good driver support and stable (even in BETA! which is amazing for M$). I would wait for the proper release but when it doe's land I will be snapping my copy up. To the guy banging on about "if you have the hardware to run it" I do have the hardware to run it dosn't make it a better OS, its still dog slow comapred to XP and will never be able to compare, thats why M$ have rushed the release of 7 through.
