Answer me a question. Does darkness exist? the Answer is of course NO! There is NO SUCH THING as dark. We refer to it as darkness 'when darkness comes' darkness shall cover the land etc. But Darkness is simply the absence of light. They are not opposits at all, yet the whole scientific and religious, secular and religious worlds uses these phrases. And refers to Dark as something which exists. Funny how some people , in fact MOST people refer to 'the dark'.

MR, you and The old testament dude fail to realise that you can ONLY enforce your argument about the God of the bible, if people ACCEPT there is a god in the first place!

Might I make a suggestion? I have seen more people come to the church as a result of Christian deeds carried out by unassuming people. I have seen the lives of people changed from alcoholism, to re-integration into pillars of the community.

WHY do you think these things happen? They happen IMHO, because true Christian believers decide it is more important to speak with their DEEDS than their mouths. These people decided they could go in two directions. either to get out and help people, make people less fortunate feel better about themselves, reach out to people in despair, and SHOW them that there ARE people who care, and they THEY MATTER as people.

Then there are those like you, who run around condemning people.

My friend there are more injustices in this world than a couple of guys sleeping together. I suggest you pull your head out of the old testament, and get to know the God of the new testament. The one who tells people to love each other, to help people, and to show a social conscience.

If people spent less time debating whether or not there is a God, whether or Not this Jesus dude was the son of god, and more people sat down and thought about WHY This Bloke Jesus has managed to do what he has done with regard having one of the worlds greatest religions lasting a couple of thousand years, then maybe, JUST MAYBE, they might see that it is because the message he preached was a message of love and hope, a message that gives a glimmer of hope to people in despair, people who have lost the will to live. The message is more important than the man.

One day, some so called Christians will realise that what we do is FAR more important than what we say, and that what can be an almost insignificant act of kindness for us to carry out, could be the difference between a man losing ALL HOPE, and regaining the will to live.

It could be something as insignificant as speaking to a homeless person who lives on the streets, and treating him as our equal rather than a bum!

People say religion is the cause of all wars, they are wrong, the cause of all wars is fanaticism. I have yet to read about a religion that preaches hate and killing. Even the so called 'axis of evil' (Islam) does NOT preach killing. It is the fanatics that bend their scriptures to suit their twisted agenda that do that.

Humility is a wonderful thing, and once you realise that a kind word works better than a thousand angry ones. YOU will change, and as Gandhi said.' if you want to change the world, you must first change yourself'.

See, I have read the bible, most of it anyway, that's HOW you form opinions on such things, if I didn't know what were in it, I wouldn't know what I was disagreeing with would I.

The difference is when I read it, I read it with an open mind, applied the logic I have learnt to it and formed the opinion that it's nothing more than a learning tool, a learning tool that is no less than 2000 years out of date, not a historically nor scientifically accurate book.
