OHHH third time in a week. My outlook crashed and my inbox got corrupt!!! and I seem to lost my mails again. tried to recover mails from inbox but just got a windows alert - cant read from file it is corrupt and unreadable please run checkdisk utility. WTF!!!! its high time to switch mail client i think..
/me saw the topic and expected some "sex related" post anyways... Outlook sucks in my opinion... i use mozilla thunderbird and it works like a charm... you should give it a go
Go Thunderbird. I use Outlook at work. Recently bought a Firewire back up drive which is scheduled every hour. Here's what happens occasionaly. If the backup starts right during downloading of an e-mail (very likely since I turn around 100+ a day) the whole system shits itself and the weirdest thing is that then all my FireFox (?!!!) bookmarks and settings are gone. I have no f-ing clue what FireFox has to do with all that but it's happened 4 times now and it's totally ridiculous. Will go Thunderbird in the office soon as well. Just need to find a way to export and import Spambayes training settings.
I only use online mail dont trust downloading them lol. My heartfelt sypathies. We need to start a webmaster campaign against anything M/S. Even so far as blocking browsers.
I switched to t-bird because of security concerns with ms oulook. I cannot say it is any better though.
A little self promotion here : Outlook recovery tools Also (w/o self promotion) go SpamPal it's the best Spam stopper I've tried.
Have you tried all four that are on that page? Would be interesting to hear if any of them managed to rescue anything.
Well not all four but top two, and end up with an error msg. that cud not read the file as they are corrupt and unreadable. windows was suggesting me to run check disk utility
So what you say is that the program thats supposed to recover lost mails from damaged files complains when the file is damaged
Umm no!!! perhaps your software is great, but no software is able to read from the corrupt DBX file. as windows, Big brother of MSOE, doesnt let any software to read from the DBX files.
