You shouldn't post entire blogposts. If you think something is useful, just post the summary or a few lines. Anyway thanks for the link.
I agree on most of the points. I just don't use PS to evaluate a directory nor # of backlinks. I would check the total unique backlinks (unique domains/sub-domains) + high PR backlinks (PR4 +) instead. In some cases, I also check the position of the directory in the SERP.
Searchenginejournal owned by Jeff ? Thats a really great post.. Hope directory submission will increase a lot
you are not the author, so posting an initial excerpt, and then adding a link to the original post is a common courtesy.
So I copy an entire site and give a link back to it, would it be fair? Giving a link back is no excuse. You got upset because someone just made a template similar to Aviva. How can you justify a person copying someone's article and using it?
When I made the original post, I didn't know that you had no problem with it. I was just saying that before using someone's article, it is better to take his/her permission.
I think posting the article publicly like on this discussion forum may be looked at differently than if someone did the same on their personal site, but I can't speak for anyone other than myself.
If reproduction of any creative work interferes with the commercial interests of the original work, it can be considered a copyright violation, no matter in which manner it is reproduced. In this case, it doesn't matter because Jeff doesn't mind, but it will apply if the writer didn't give permission for it.
