Probably, the VPS is unmanaged and delivered with just the OS. Simply uploading files to the VPS wont do anything for you unless you install apache and the other misc. modules needed to run your site.

Answered in PM....yes you can upgrade at anytime, no data loss or migration is needed either as it is an instant upgrade feature.

Now you say that vps is unmanaged. So essentially the client is on his own? Please clarify.

Yes the client is on its own. You can still request for help I think with extra charge. Unmange means you optimize your own VPS & install everything you need.

If something happen to the VPS you can always rebuild the VPS but make sure u backup important data before you rebuild ^^

Yeah thanks. Apparently google is a storehouse of knowledge... Managed to install all those and get my site up and running with my limited Centos vps knowledge.
Am happy that I remembered the Unix commands which I had used years back.

 

I'm a satisfied client , and i'm going to be active for long term.
I did various tests with my vps, and tried cent os 5.0, fedore 10 and now ubuntu. The vps works great, i belive i had 0 downtime wich is perfect.
Even with remote desktop + vnc server, the vps was working normal.

Yeah, their team is pretty supportive. I can vouch for that. I spent the last few hours getting php-mysql-apache and phpmyadmin to work. Gets easier once you understand the way it works.

Since I haven't uploaded any huge site into the server as yet, I wanted to know if I can host a small game server. I went through the TOS and could not find anything about not hosting a game server. But I wanted to test one just for the experience since I read that it is easy to work with one.

Since there are many users who may have a similar doubt, I thought I will post this here.

The vps might be good for a gameserver as long as you live in us, because you need good ping when you play online.

 

Yeah I know the server is located in the US. I will be shifting there after two months. I just wanted to know what all a VPS was capable of. As in I would go ahead and install the game server, but I need to know if it will cause any problem with my account.
