    Hiyya!

I have a domain...for arguments sake lets say the subject matter is for "blue widgets". What I would like to know is...

If I change the site subject matter to say "red widgets" would it then go into the google sandbox for competetive keywords that were not on the website before?

Same kind of subject matter but a slight difference.

The domain is 7-8 months old. Does my question make sense?

    Thanks, Debra :)

I don't think this would put you in any sandbox but it will obviously affect the search results. It would depend on how you change the site subject matter.

For new information, you can't call it sandbox, because google doesn't even find you yet. But you have the chance to get into sandbox for the competitive keywords later.
