A dozen 7-11 stores, including one in Chicago, turned into the fictional convenience stores of "The Simpsons" fame this weekend. The Kwik-E-Marts, along with the 6,000 other Seven-Elevens around North America will sell Simpsons-themed treats during the month-long promotion. Among them: Buzz Cola, Krusty-O's cereal and Squishees, the slushy Slurpees knockoff. Read more here (pictures and videos) How cool is that?
lol, that's pretty sweet! I wonder if you can get high off of Squishees like what happened in the Simpsons.
Nice, being Indian I can't wait to here what people say..But I hope they do this to the one around me, would be pretty cool to see.
Krusty-O's sweet! pretty giant promotion is it not! I wonder if any of the stores around here will be doing it or is it all 7-11's??
I spent some time at the Kwik-E-Mart in Chicago this week, talked to the owner, and wrote up a story you guys might enjoy. "Top 5 reasons to check out the Chicago Kwik-E-Mart" I also assembled a pretty exhaustive photo gallery of the store: http://www.methodsreporter.com/chicago-kwik-e-mart-photos/ I kept track of everything sold in the store over a 20 minute span one night, really amazing how much money these things are taking in. I've got some audio clips from my interview with the owner sprinkled throughout, including the goofy Apu-style "Thank you, come again" that he does after every sale. I couldn't figure out if it was offensive or not. Enjoy! Link away too, I'd like to get some eyeballs on this.
^ that's great and a super idea! funny how they were all stopping to take their pics outside with comic guy
