I hope everyone has found my post with the test DC useful and hopefully it finally gets me out of the red...
I agree. My IBM example returns what I think are more relevant results. Some of my terms are better there and those nearby are way better then what I see on Google now. For those terms I tried that aren't in the top 10, those that do show have more relevancy then what I see on Google.
http://64.233.179.99/search?q=hotels+in+salzburg&btnG=Search&hl=en&lr= if that is what you find most relevant results, cool. 2 pages out of top10 are quality pages with affiliate IDs - that shall not be possible! one page is not about hotels, but about sightseeing! one page has lots of links to other destinations and a search panel only! one is Yahoo! page with no real added value apart from reviews and slightly more ads than the page ranked below. that makes 5 out of 10 results that provide no real value. in my opinion of course... I understand that we monitor various segments of the SERPs, but here, it just does not look right. The IBM search - that is more information searchphrase than selling one. So I would not take it into consideration. If one would like to take it, let they look at: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&rls=GGGL,GGGL:2005-09,GGGL:en&q=google&btnG=Search and tell me if these SERPs are not relevant eanough. thanks for your time reading this
Those results are very similar to what I see on my regular google akadns site-- are you saying that the new DC is noteably worse than the google akadns results? -- Derek
Two weeks ago the IBM search showed #5 as the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Not to knock them, but IBM Corporation probably has 82 google web pages, and 114 triple google backlinks so what I see now at that DC matches what I would expect. Actually, the magicians are number 4 right now of Google: IBM
I dont see them there. They used to be. Personally, I think it'd be a hoot to get the magicians to be #2 for IBM. Do I smell a contest? LOL
I was kind of waiting for a post from Mcdar to see her analogy on this DC.. I guess I will have to keep waiting... LOL
I am now seeing that the test DC has reverted back to beeing the same results as others.. So much for the good results I was seeing earlier ..
Eeek, the magicians are #3 now for IBM at that DC. Hmmm, evil magic seems to be stirring around. Maybe they'll reach #1 there. Wouldn't that be a kick?
It seems like it is bouncing all over the place. I have also noticed a bl update on the same DC wierd.
Well I got red again for this post...It goes to show it doesn't matter what you post and how much info you give apparently some people just jump around giving red...OH well... It will be interesting to see what happens with this test DC.
Ha Ha - oddly enough, none of the sites/keywords I monitor showed any different results on that Datacenter. I kept checking figuring I'd see something but I never did Caryl
Anyone see any different results on 66.102.11.104? Using the mcDar tool I found about 4 DC's(including this one) with slightly different results. I did a search for my site address(to check the cache status), and this one didn't show it at all, so I went manually and typed it in, and it came up with a title/description that's at least 18 months old. No cache, though. It also doesn't seem to rank in any SERPs on that DC... Not sure if it means anything, but I think there's stuff going on there... Anyone else? -- Derek
For my industires keywords there are some companies listed many times in the first few pages and totally irrelevent results both. This is crazy! Carol
