I don't really understand what you mean by that. I just tried what you said and either it looks really bad, or I'm not fully understanding what you mean.. What I did was took the clients logo, w/ my color scheme and just put in in the box where it says "Are you lacking organization.." Is that what you wanted? Because I tried it and it doesn't look to great. I'm heading off to bed but I'll be back on around 8AM EST. I really need the money ASAP so if you can tell me what would really push me to the winners position, that would be great.
@HairlessTaco: Thanks for your comments. Ultimately, I don't choose the winner. I just work with the designers and then hand over your designs to the client for him/her to decide on the winning design. However, I do know that the client really likes the vertical bars in her logo. Yet, I am realizing that this is making it difficult for the designers. I can submit your design as is but without the full logos it's anyone's guess. Hope this helps.
FEEDBACK @designerboy: I have no idea how I missed your two designs. Thanks for staying on top of the thread. I really like organizing3.jpg. I only have a few suggestions. First, figure out how you can employ the entire logo into the design. Even if it means you shrink the logo into one of the top corners. I would also recommend placing a newsletter subscription and a search bar (which I have been overlooking) into the design. I also like organizing2.jpg but I wouldn't incorporate the navigation with the white header strip. I would actually put the navigation under the couch header picture. I would also make the left side bar one solid vertical bar and use the light green title bars to distinguish the different sections. Also, like your other design you need to add a newsletter subscription and a search bar. Hope this helps, and again I apologize for overlooking your designs, they are good.
Here is my entry. I actually love that logo and feel its strong enough to be the centerpiece without any added distractions.
FEEDBACK @agapito: Wow! Great design! No changes needed. @kix_mc3: Your design is okay, but it runs into the problem that everyone else runs into--the original logo is too heavily modified. @Lukero: Thanks for your changes, and this time I won't forget to comment on your design . This design works much better with the navigation, and I am glad to see the original logo in tact. All you need to do now is add a search bar and a newsletter sign-up. @anhalo: Hmm. . . I am not sure about this design. It's different, I will give you that. There are some changes I would recommend. First, the green background may go with the logo but it definitely doesn't look good. Also, the bio and testimonials can't be at the bottom of the design, they are too important. Plus, you need to add a newsletter sign-up and a search bar function. @Ace2016: Thank you for submitting this design! I definitely think it fits better with this client than with the last client. Just a few changes, first, will you move the bio to the top, and then put a testimonial section where the bio used to be. Second, the little figures don't look good in the header (to me they cheapen the design). I don't think the logo is strong enough to stand alone in the header with this design, maybe you can incorporate something else to help balance the whole design without using the stick figures. However, overall I like the design.
I've added the original logo into the banner like you asked. http://hostimg.org/images/h828ppvdx1ocpplar8sc.jpg Feedback please. Also, when are you going to submit these to the client?
@HairlessTaco: Thanks for making the changes, I think the client will like it. The only thing I would recommend you add is a search bar function. To answer you question, I am planning on closing the contest tonight (I will be making an announcement here in my next comment). I will be announcing the winners tomorrow evening. Hope this helps.
ANNOUNCEMENT xxxplatinium, raja, anhalo, and itrungs if you are going to get your design into this contest you have 13 hours. I am closing this contest at 9pm (-7 GMT) tonight. For those of you that have already submitted your designs: all changes to your designs need to be made before this time. After the contest is closed it will take 24 hours before I announce the winner (hopefully sooner but you never know). Thanks for all of your hard work and great designs. Please leave a comment in the thread if you have any questions. ~Paul
Here is an image of my design @ 75% of its actual size. I do not have copyright priviledges for the image of the woman. I just "borrowed" it for the purpose of display in the place where the site owner's picture will go. It still has the watermark on it and can be purchased at Istockphoto.com.
