I am needing a one page uncoded design of for an Organizing Consultant. The name of the company is Mind Over Matter. The jpeg of the consultant's logo is below. I've also added a link to PSD of the logo. LOGO DOWNLOAD LOGO PSD EXAMPLES Here are two examples of sites you can pattern your design after. Use these example as reference point and not necessary a knock-off of what I want. WYNGATE COMMONS This website is a good example of a balance of design and functionality. The only draw back of the design is how big the header is. SWEET TOOTH DESIGNS This example was actually provided by the client. She liked the openness of the design. Basically, with all the open/white space the client felt that site wasn't cluttered. Don't let this example fool you though, the client does want design incorporated. However, she wants the design to look organized. NAVIGATION Here is the navigation. I have also added the sub navigation if you decided to do vertical navigation, so that I can code accordingly. Main Navigation Home About Us Contact Services Resources Before/After Blog Sub Navigation Services * FAQ * Seminars & Workshops * Fees and Policies Resources * Podcast * Products * Newsletter * Articles * Books ADDITIONAL LAYOUT I will need a place in the design for a picture of the consultant, a short bio paragraph (just put dummy text right now), and link to her full bio. You will also need an area for testimonials with a link to "more success stories". SUGGESTED STOCK PHOTOS Here are some sample stock photos you can use. If you win I will buy all the photos you use.
FEEDBACK @designerboy: Thanks for being the first submission, and I like how you incorporate the logo with the header. However, the striped lines through the header make the overall design extremely busy. Also, the left sidebar needs to be wider. Hope that helps.
Couple questions. Are we allowed to make a new or edit the current logo? Also, when does the contest end? Thanks.
Yes, you are allowed to change the logo. I've learned with site designs on DP it often takes five to seven days to get the right design. Howevever, I've done it as short as 24 hours, so I've left it open.
Here's my entry: http://i33.tinypic.com/aui06w.gif I hope you like it. Feedback is appreciated as well. I wanted to send it via PM but apparently the PM system wasn't working so here it is.
@Lukero: Thanks for your submission. I actually did receive both your PMs . However, you saved me an email because I only leave feedback on the thread. I need to remember to add in the opening thread that I only accept designs submissions through the thread. It makes it so I am not continually repeating myself. Thanks. I will have feedback for you shortly.
FEEDBACK @HairlessTaco: I really like how you divided out the navigation, and the color scheme is solid. However, there are several things I would change. First, I think you've changed the logo a little too much. I am certain that the client wouldn't choose your design because it varies too much from the original logo design. Second, in your bio I need for you to have a picture holder of where the consultant's picture would go. Also, you don't have a place for the newsletter sign-up. I would shorten the bio and and create a subtitle block and place it in the sidebar. I would also create a right hand sidebar and place the testimonials there. Putting the testimonials at the bottom makes them worthless. @Hetzenauer: I like the split design. It's different but could work. However, I didn't recognize what your navigation was initially because it looks like a title and not navigation. Also, if someone hadn't seen the original logo they wouldn't realize what you are doing. @Lokomedia: I don't like this design. It doesn't flow together at all. The eye jumps around because the design doesn't have a focal point to it. Plus, the logo is absolutely gone. I would go back to the drawing board, but I do appreciate your effort.
FEEDBACK @Lukero: I just realized I left out my feedback for your design--I apologize. Here are my suggestions. I like the color scheme and the right side bar. However, the header needs a rework. I am recognizing with everyone's submissions that this logo isn't the easiest to design around. One major flaw your logo runs into is that it is a part of the navigation. This design will be plugged into a CMS (Content Management System). The navigation is dynamic so that the client will have full control over the content and nav. By having your logo designed into the nav. it throws off the CMS. Anyway hope this helps, and again, my apologies for not responding to your design sooner.
FEEDBACK @HairlessTaco: The changes look good. The only recommendation I would make is to take the original logo (use your color scheme of the logo) and put it in the box where you have paper tray. I think if you can get more of the look of the logo the better.
