All questions and submissions must be submitted through the thread. I will not take any PM-ed designs or questions. This way I don't have to repeat myself and the general contest can benefit from your talent and insights.

I have held over eighty design contests on digital point and I have always awarded a winner. I also try to be very attentive in giving you prompt and helpful feedback. Obviously, since we are all in different time zones this doesn't always work as planned. However, do know that while this contest is going on your design is my top priority.

    WEBSITE SPECS
I am looking to design a religious (Mormon) one page site. It's important to note for your designs that Mormons do not use the Crucifixion (the Cross) in their religious imagery. So, any design with a cross in it will not be considered. Below are some more specs that will help you.

The client would really like a blend between StyleHive.com and WeblogsInc.com. With StyleHive we really like the tab features like "Featured People" and "Popular Bookmarks." With WeblogsInc.com we like the call to action of "Bloggers," "Readers," and "Marketer." However, we would like to change the tabs to "Bloggers," "Readers," and "Community."

Below are links to the jpg and psd of the logo. There are two variations of the logo. Logo 1 has a border and Logo 2 does not. Feel free to try the design with both, we are not sure which one we like more.

This contest has a time frame of 72 hours but may extend longer until a desired winner is chosen. Best of luck, and thank you in advance for your great talent.

    Yeah!
I was gonna come up with that!
With a wireframe/sketch, it'd be easier to design.

    WIREFRAME

We all know that I don't have the creativity that you guys do (if so, I would be designing my own sites :D). So, please do not hesitate to add something to this wireframe if you think it will help. ~Paul

It looks like this will be a small and quiet contest. I do understand that some designers don't like doing religious designs (I received a PM to this effect). I do respect this decision, and hope to see those designers in future contests.

I don't see us hitting the 72 hour limit for the contest. I will keep this contest going until the right design comes along. Looking forward to seeing shinan's and willhaynes's submission. If you two are the only to submit, you can at least rest assure that both of you will get some money out of the contest =). Happy Designing! ~Paul

    Hi
Thank you for the invite. I will be glad to work on something and try to submit it here as soon as I can.
So no coding required right ? Just the design ?

I don't mind religious work, even though I am not religious. Just got back from Salt Lake last week, it was a nice trip ,but I didn't get to see the Temple close up.

Not sure I understand your wire frame , I thought that "Bloggers," "Readers," and "Community." would be like three columns and then have the tabs on them ?
you have like 3 large buttons for the Blogger, readers , and community
and under that 2 columns with 3 tabs at the top of each one. should these be blank tabs ? Should there be text ? if so what should it read ?

or will the be a column for each of bloggers, readers , and community and then they each have a tabs ?

@a4hire: Thanks for your questions and yes this contest is only for the design. I'm looking for the large boxes similar to Weblogsinc.com. The boxes should be big enough for three to four sentences describing each aspect of the site (again, similar to what weblogsinc has). Then under those boxes we want it to look like StyleHive.com's format of two columns with tabs for each column. For the tabs just put tab 1, tab 2, and etc. We will code the text of the tab. Hope this clarifies what we are looking for. Let me know if you have more questions. ~Paul

P.S. Everyone please do not use anything from the existing design of LDSFriends.com. We are looking for a complete make over of the site. It needs to be different and vibrant.

    Here goes my entry.

Everyone, please no copying of style/concept/layout.

PS: I know the header/logo part is a bit cluttered, I could make them perfect though. Let it be like that for now. Just need your feedback on the overall design. :)

    FEEDBACK

@shinan: One thing that is important to the client is emphasizing the logo, she absolutely loves the logo! Your current header does a great job in blending the logo into the header--too good of a job. I would work on making it much more prominent. I really like the "more" buttons you used for the "Bloggers" "Readers" and "Community." However, I am not a fan of the image for "Readers" and "Community." It looks a like I am playing Mario Brothers :D. I do like the rounded corners on the overall layout, but the warm color scheme of the header clashes with the cool color scheme of the rest of the site. I would opt for more of a warm feel. Hope this helps and thank you for putting together a great submission.

    FEEDBACK

@bizzard: The header really looks bland. Maybe you should incorporate the logo with the navigation. That way you don't have to think of something to go into the header. As for the three boxes, the third one should say Community and not marketers. I am not sure I am sold on having icons in thes boxes, since it is hard to find icons that fit the LDS community. Hope this helps.

    @shinan:
As stated with bizzard I think it would be best to have the logo and the navigation together. That way the header isn't so bare (especially since there won't be a member login on the real site). Also, like bizzard I don't think we should go with icons in the three boxes. It just too hard to match the LDS culture and right now the icons look too business like. Finally, I am not a fan of the pink background. It is warm but also a bit feminine. Maybe an off white so not to blend in too much with the body. Just idea, not sure though.
