New clothing brand looking for logo design.

The clothing company will be selling products similar to "Grunt Style" clothing (google it).

The Brand is called "Tarr & Feathers".

The client would like to see a wooden barrel incorporated with the brand name. Perhaps the brand name could appear to be etched into the wooden barrel? Or maybe you imagine something else?

Could you implement some feathers in the image? Perhaps make the word "feather" look like it's made out of feathers? Or has feathers attached to the letters? Perhaps you could just make the last "S" at the end of the word "feathers" appear to be covered in feathers?

There appear to be matchsticks in the image? In addition, the added feather just seems a bit too hap-hazard.

Though I'm not opposed to seeing this approach in some other form.

 

What a minimalist approach! I like the creativity. But this is not a direction our client is looking in going.

You've done most of what I have asked for. But my client would prefer a bit more of an integrated approach, where the elements of the design seem to combine into one larger whole via artistic placing or interpretation. These designs seem to have a more separate approach within them.
